The Nice View from Executive room is stunning!
Chenz T
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | Nov 2, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe hotel is located in Bund East. If you want to access to the city centre, you need to take subway (abt 1 km walking distance) or cab. The night here is quiet! You need to walk less than 10 minutes to nearer minimart for your grocery and alchohoL. If you need to take some local food, it is about 6-7minutes walking distance to the nearest food street. it is a typical hotel but i do like the bridge and flyover view from executive room! it is breezy and has another city feel of Shanghai instead of typical city view provided by other hotels in city center.

Nexus Holidays tour
Sandra P
Melbourne, Australia | Nov 2, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThe rooms are large and generally clean. Some of our fellow travelers were not happy with the cleanliness, but our room was ok. Close to local shops. The mini buffet with unlimited drinks was really great value and plenty of choice.

Second time around and nothing has changed except...
Jpart
Vancouver, Canada | Nov 1, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesHad visited the hotel through Nexus holidays in 2013 so we decided to stay here again. This time around we noticed nothing had changed and maybe that is not such a bad thing but since I have come to expect more from China and Shanghai in particular I may have been hoping for some renovations to the rooms carpets etc. We noticed the carpets to be time tested to say the least especially in the foyers on the lobby and the furniture could do with some TLC. Other than that everything else was pretty much upto par. Recognized one of the front desk staff and there was no problems checking in. The view from our room (2615) was absolutely stunning and the breakfast at the café Lounge was as was expected which I must say was pretty good. However we had buffet one night in Shanghai at the same café Lounge and I must say we were ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED. For 150 RMB per person the food was stale especially the sushi looked like it was left over from the previous day and everything was cold. We arrived in at 9PM and were told the closing was at 10 PM but by 9:15 Pm they had already started clearing the food and at 9:30 they took away the dessert. I had to go up to the lady and request her to allow me to take some dessert which she simply left on the trolley and walked away. While I was taking the dessert I noticed the other servers take the food including the stale sushi and take it into the adjoining room maybe to serve the next day for breakfast. I am let down with this kind of service. The Chinese restaurant on the other hand was very good. On the first night we visited we were not told that between the two of us we should order person orders so we proceeded to order portions and believe me the portions were big and I can say 6 could easily eat from what we had ordered which was: Seafood Soup, Shrimp Fried Rice and Pepper fish. All very tasty and the food was piping hot, however we heard some guests at another table complain their food was cold and they had to send it back and when the bill came for them they refused to pay the service charge which is automatically included in the bill @15%. The restaurant removed the charges without any argument and that I must say is good customer service. Now I am not here to judge who is right or wrong and I leave it upto my readers to decide. Another tip please DO NOT order hot water with your dinner. The water is served boiling hot. English at this restaurant is a challenge but luckily one of the attendants had a translator built into her phone and that indeed lessened the confusion. With such a lot of food out bill came to $59 CDN and that I think is GREAT value for the money. Change the Café Lounge staff and food and I will gladly give this place a 5 Star rating again. Lastly WiFi is free but only in the lobby. Will I stay here next time? Sure I will why let one restaurant spoil it for the rest of the hotel.

The Room View was the Highlight
MrsSammy
Toronto, Canada | Oct 29, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe check-in staff was very lacking in customer service. We asked to use a phone before we checked in as they were having problems checking us in. They didn't seem know where we could find one or to help us out. They didn't ask for a manager or ask for help when there was issues they couldn't solve. We went for dinner right after check-in. The food was terrible we ordered a soup and it was so terrible that we couldn't stomach the one spoonful we slurped. We had breakfast here everyday - the room only included one breakfast. We paid for a second breakfast which was very expensive. The food was very poor quality. The food never changed for day to day. There was only two types of fruit watermelon and melon everyday - no change and it wasn't fresh or ripe. The was two types of juice. It said orange juice but it was just sugar water not even orange juice from concentrate. No water was available at breakfast. My husband said the coffee was the worst coffee he ever tasted. The tea was very weak and watery. The weak three star was given for the clean and great view of the room. We also appreciated the day time concierge would helped us with taxis and booked tours as well gave us instructions and map and gave us recommendations to visit.

Good Accomodations
Cathi C
North Vancouver, Canada | Oct 14, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesOur room was an enormous corner mini-suite with a spa-like bathroom. The accomodations were clean & well appointed with king bed, fluffy towels etc. (the previous negative comments must have been addressed, because we did not see anything to disappoint.) My only negative was that the wifi during our stay was sketchy and frequently unavailable. The location is not central, but this was not a problem as we were on tour.
