  As a frequent traveller to China, I generally stay at the same hotel and rarely change. This hotel came as a recommendation from a friend of mine who lives in Shanghai, I normally stay on the Bund and was a bit hesitant at first, but he said it was trendy boutique hotel and that I would enjoy it.
  I must say that the hotel is fantastic. This is where I will be staying from now on in Shanghai. The hotel is funky, the rooms are clean and the staff are brilliant.
  Fergus the General Manager is a true gentleman and most of all an asset to the hotel. He was helpful, knowledgeable and nothing was too hard. He just a great person after meeting him for the first time I felt like he was a mate of mine and I had known him for ages. Garry the restaurant manger was also helpful and his service was faultless.
  Overall I would recommend this hotel to any business people or couples. The only let down is that it does not have to many English TV channels, and it can be difficult to get a taxi sometimes but other than that it is brilliant.

  We were quite impressed once we arrived the hotel, the GM and the sales person were there to greet us, a small group, were escorted to the lobby, nice, warm and cozy. As it was in the evening, there were drinks, canapes available for us. The check in was smooth, GM is so warm and extend their best hospitality. The room is good size, with a small kitchenette, nicely equipped. the bed is firm, water with good pressure and hot. Internet is free throughout the hotel. Continental breakfast is served at 7:00am and pretty of food, a couple mornings, the GM is serving us coffee.... LOL. Definitely would recommend and also a good location as well.

  We recently stayed at the Cachet and enjoyed it very much. The hotel is nicely renovated, modern, clean and conveniently located near Jing An and Nanjing XiLu. Breakfast was very good and the hotel offers all guests complimentary drinks and canapés in the evening what creates a friendly opputunity to meet and mix with fellow travellers. The team is led by Fergus and were extremely efficient and friendly. Overall a very cool boutique hotel and a refreshing alternative to the stock standard international hotels out there.

  My only suggestion is to have some sort of lobby look at street level. I used to stay in hotel across the street for years. I peeked at your entrance many times in past and thought of it as a apartment building.

  I would give this a 3 and a half if I could - it isn't quite good enough for the 'very good' rating but full marks to them for trying to do something a bit different in a city full of chain hotels. The manager Fergus is a great guy and can't do enough to help. Lots of nice touches, like free drinks in the minibar, and an excellent location. I just felt it didn't quite hit the mark for me - the decor of the room just seemed a bit odd for me and a lot of the fixtures and fittings were a bit chipped and bashed around. And for a premium hotel, some bits just felt cheap - for instance the towels and toiletry bottles which appeared to have been refilled. Also annoying not to be able to get a drink in the bar when returning to hotel at 10pm.
