Just good for an over night, nothing more, I believe
tjakrabirawa
Indonesia | Sep 23, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessBooked this hotel online via agoda as I got extreme flight delay from Hong Kong to Pudong Shanghai (end June 2015). Price was "acceptable", so I tried my luck as I arrived in Shanghai around 3am in the morning. Took a taxi there which I had to call the hotel to get direction. Don't forget to get the Chinese name written down for the driver (丽豪国际大酒店 ).
The hotel was fully booked that day. Upon arriving, I understood that nothing more than standard could be expected. The reception area was a bit "chaotic" even-though the front desk lady could give efficient service. The room was okay, in the sense of clean, with basic amenities including good comfort room. Sleep quality was good.
As per that time, the hotel was being renovated in some parts, and the location is really "no where to go" as it was near to industrial area and vegetable plantation at the suburb of Shanghai. The hotel, I believe was mostly booked by people visiting nearby area or as transit from/to airport.
May stay here again for transit, but surely need to prepare not to have high expectation. -
Pretty Bad
Saltspringsgirl
Ormond Beach, Florida | Oct 28, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayThis hotel was booked by China Eastern for our group which had a 9 hour layover from 4am til 1pm. We were greeted by a China Eastern agent who took us to the bus. The driver would not help load the bags. When we arrived at the hotel 20 minutes later, the staff had no clue how to check us in. One of the desk staff spoke a few words of English & after much confusion we were able to go to our rooms. There was construction everywhere with trash & open windows. The breakfast was appalling. However, the room seemed clean & we were able to get a few hours sleep. The bus driver on the way back was more helpful. I am shocked that an international airline would associate with a hotel in such bad repair.

Run down, not near airport!

New South Wales, Australia | Oct 8, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyHotel was huge but completely delapidated and run down. Although stated "close to airport" Taxi from airport was a nightmare as he had no idea where to go. No English speaker at all on the front desk/ checkin, many areas in the hotel lobby abandoned with just curtains around it. Although room came with breakfast, it looked like a soup kitchen, no food available! The area around was a light industrial so no restaurants and many shops closed down. The Hotel looks like it was built maybe for the Olympics but never had $1 spent on it since! I wouldn't recommend any tourists staying there , it was just too difficult!

Added this place into phone contacts as crappy hotel

Bremerton, Washington, United States | Aug 10, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawaySpent over an hour at airport waiting for a "Driver" and ended up taking their shuttle. 23 minutes from Airport is not close as it was described. Once we arrived no one spoke enough English to order a cab to downtown and they said all the restaurants where closed.
We asked for a second key being there are two of us in a double room and the said NO. It is there rule "one room, one key." We asked to speak to the manager, they instead said it was their rule and did not get a manager. Also, over priced for being so far out. -
The most disgraceful excuse for a hotel that can possibly exist

Realised we were in for problem when hotel bus collected us from Shanghai airport and looked liked a builders van, dirty and unkept
Approaching the hotel, the car park was full of breeze blocks, cement and builders equipment. As we went into reception, it looked like a continuation of the exterior, in other words a filthy, dirty building site with thick dust everywhere and tools everywhere.we looked in the kitchens and restaurant areas which were again filthy dirty and curtains and furniture stacked high around the room.food was left uncovered in the kitchen and the floor was disgusting.by history this is a very poor hotel,in a worse state because of refurbishment and was not fit for habitation.health and safety was not on the cards with holes in ceilings, walls, building works drilling till late evening.carpets were filthy, reception was filthy, how China Eastern can use this hotel is beyond human rights.we never checked in but understand the bedrooms were equally poor, this hotel is in a desolate position away from human habitat and is a very sad place to end a holiday
We called a cab to take us into Shanghai to finish our holiday on a high, there was no way we were staying in this dump
We will be taking this matter furthur with Mercury holidays with whom we booked our trip and we shall post all our photos that we took on the social media sites and hotel sites,to make you aware of our concerns.the photos on the hotel website bear no relation of this hotel at all
