I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • A very average hotel with a real atmosphere of pretentiousness
    Helen R
Greater Manchester, United Kingdom | Oct 18, 2025 | Trip type: Business

I've been staying in this hotel for two months now and I felt compelled to sign up to Tripadvisor to post a review. Everywhere is serious marble. Everything is built to look luxurious but it's just downright pretentious. I think the hotel should focus less on how grand the place looks and pay more attention to the quality of the facilities and service.
The rooms are great and the cleaners are absolutely lovely. If you ask them for an extra bottle of water or two, no problem. I really feel grateful to staff who bend the rules to provide the best service possible for customers. Unfortunately too many staff members from other parts of the hotel can only be described as real jobsworths and it's frustrated me on many occasions. Just this evening I ordered a pizza and I had to walk quite far away from the hotel to collect it because the doorman told the pizza guy he couldn't come into the reception area for safety reasons (or something along those lines). The same guy will also shuffle you away like you're dirt if you sit in the wrong place outside. He really needs to lighten up and maybe crack a friendly smile every once in a while.
Back to the rooms. The beds are extremely comfortable (my Chinese colleagues don't appreciate them 'cause Chinese people tend to prefer hard beds but these are so soft and comfortable!), everything is clean and the rooms are a really good size. The bathroom is huge and has everything you could need. If you're here for a job and you won't need to spend much time in the hotel itself, this place is great for a good night's sleep (as long as you don't do something awful like lose your room key because they'll make you feel awful about replacing it).
The breakfast is very average and the music is terrible (although maybe I'm just bored of it after two months). The pool is freezing cold (no outdoor pool) and the gym is sometimes overrun with kids messing about on the machines and is full of mosquitos. I have to say, the sports staff are good and have really gone extra lengths to make the experience enjoyable except for the fact I'm constantly telling them the pool is too cold. Other people are also constantly telling them but they claim that it's 27 degrees and that's warm enough. If they actually took a second to try the water they'd see just how cold it is! I guess it's a source of entertainment when you see people getting in for the first time, but after a while, you just think... Heat the bloody thing up!
Other members of staff around the hotel (apart from the cleaners and sports staff) make you feel like a nuisance if you want anything. The restaurant staff are the worst and at breakfast just asking for a cup of coffee makes me feel like I'm putting them out. Again, everyone's a jobsworth and couldn't possibly bend the rules to help. It's a stingy hotel for the price of the room!
The location is absolutely terrible. You have to pay 20 yuan to get a taxi to the nearest subway station which is then about an hour out of the main part of the city centre, the nearest restaurant is at least a 25 minute walk and those aren't even very good. The food in the hotel is overpriced and very average and luckily I speak Chinese so have no problems getting around, but if you can't speak Chinese, there's no way you'd be able to enjoy a stress-free stay here.
Also the fireworks going off outside at various times throughout the day are infuriating! Usually in the morning but also generally throughout the day and once at 1am outside my window has caused me so much frustration. I know it's a wedding tradition in China, but I think the hotel should encourage the people to set them off a little further away from the building as the noise is deafening.
The WiFi isn't good at all but then they gave us a router and it's much better now. We went away for a week and when we came back they gave us a bad router and I insisted they got another one but I had to find the really helpful cleaner to do it 'cause the guy they sent was convinced it was both my laptop and phone that had the issues despite only being one year old. Anyway, the old router is back and everything is fine again. It took a lot of effort to get it sorted though.
I have another month left here and I honestly wish I didn't. Absolute credit to the few members of staff who are a joy to speak to but I warn you to stay well away from here when there are much better hotels in the centre for half the price!
I hope I haven't missed anything of importance in here, I've been contemplating writing a review for a while now.

  • Handy for the conference centre, watch out for your credit card bill ....!
    John B
Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany | Aug 27, 2025 | Trip type: Business

The hotel is ideal for the conference centre 300m away beyond this it is really not a good location or special place to stay.
Whilst the hotel is a strange mix of baroque and art deco it fails to feel grand. During my stay it was almost empty and lacked any atmosphere.
Check-in was easy with the front desk staff having excellent english skills.
The only meal that I had there was breakfast and despite there being only ever 3 or for people there (with 6-7 serving staff) the level of service was very poor, with even a simple omelette order (from the egg station) being an adventure. The bar was situated in the neighbouring Club building was always empty and when closing was announced by the lights going out and the staff leaving.... Drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, were enormously expensive and quite a surprise.
The room was large and reasonably well appointed, with an interesting sunken seating area that was handy to have. Being carpeted the room had that vague wet dog smell that high humidity regions often get, not too bad but always there...
Check-out was the most disappointing, I clearly and expressly asked to be billed in RMB and not "benefit" from a conversion to EUR. Sadly, upon my return I was hit with the EUR credit card bill.

Stayed here recently during a short trip to Shanghai. Staffs at front desk were good, quick check in & check out! Hotel decorations are little too much, lot of marbles, little too much I think. Little pricey!

  • Great location for attending trade sows but removed from Shanghai city
    Snapper1982
Bengaluru (Bangalore), India | Feb 23, 2025 | Trip type: Business

I stayed here in April 2014 to attend a two-day conference at the same hotel + the Chinaplas trade fair. This may not be the ideal location for a tourist wanting to explore Shanghai but is pretty self sufficient for events held indoors also also close to the Trade centre.
The room I got was generously sized and very comfortable! The staff were polite and courteous and I honestly cannot find any fault with my 3 days stay at this place. I would certainly stay there again if I had to attend another trade fair in Shanghai.

  • Very Luxurious but in the middle of nowhere
    Mikedeleon
    Nov 11, 2025 | Trip type: Business

I was booked here for an international exhibition. Its about 10 minutes walk to the nearest subway station, which is good, because its in the middle of nowhere. No food choices or restaurants nearby, so you're pretty much stuck in your own luxurious island.
Location aside, the rooms are probably the best I've ever stayed, with a huuuuuge bed, marble-everything and living room area. Breakfast buffet is pretty comprehensive too, with a mix of western and chinese breakfast options. Nice touches abound, such as a complimentary umbrella (which I used) and good quality bathroom amenities. English of the staff is much better than other hotels that I've been in. This is the first hotel I've been to in China where everything in the mini-bar is complimentary. Overall, its a really nice place suffering from a terrible location. On the plus side, the isolated location makes for a quiet night's sleep.
The balconies do NOT open, which is a shame, because they're really nice.
