I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

We have now been with AQUASPACE for one year. Initially we were just here short term but we were very happy with them as our landlord and felt well looked after so decided to stay. The location is great, walking distance to both line 2 and line 9 metro stations and only one stop to the other side of the river. Also the ferry is close by so one is able to get to the famous bund with a short trip across the river, great views of both sides and very cheap. The Yanlord Garden grounds are very green and there are two outdoor pools to cool off in or relax at over the summer. The grounds also offer BBQ facilities, a clubhouse with an indoor pool and basic gym equipment as well as a great convenience store stocking a number of foreign products. There are also tennis, squash, basketball and badminton courts among other facilities.
The AQUASPACE staff have been most helpful and accommodating with all our needs.

If you're planning to stay at this place please read this review and all other reviews about this property.
    First of all,
Only top level room type with river view is worth staying.
Now if you can spare some time get some perspective from my experience of this place. If you're in a hurry then just beware of this place.
I booked a two bedroom apartment with river view online.I had requested a late check in which they accepted. Now as soon as i reached this place there was no reception or any kind of help and i waited outside the building for 15 minutes and after so many phone calls to their given numbers from my phone on international roaming,a lady came to check us in.
As soon as we entered our apartment we were shocked to see how different and ugly this place is compared to the one displayed in the photos.
Now this lady quickly walked us through the apartment quickly took our credit card details with CVV and went off. After this what we discovered was that none of the appliances call it fridge AC water cooler and everything around.
We called this woman once again and she firstly tried to convince us that everything is in working order but it will take sometime to start but nothing happened. After which we had to talk to her in a louder tone in order to get the truth out.The girl said she'll call someone to repair everything the next day.So they mean that in the peak of summer season you're supposed to pay full rent for a just a bed and nothing else working and also for the beautiful river view which was no where visible.
We refused to pay the amount for the first night and asked her to call her boss to which she said that it wont be possible to call anyone right now and "I'll call my boss and then come to your apartment "
We agreed. The next day no one showed up and our day of exploring shanghai in our 4 day trip went waste in waiting for them with no response from the other side.We later had to take help from the local police which they tried to some extent and btw no one understands English in china so again you'll be helpless.Anyway we managed to explain the whole situation to the officer on duty in 2 hours of talking and he partly understood i think. Now we made the officer talk to these people and after so much of hard work they managed to get us through the supervisor on the phone.
We told them to give us the best apartment with luggage transfer and with a real river view.
Now we called them to help us change the apartment but we had to move our 5 pieces of heavy luggage all through their colony or whatever it was.the new apartment was the best they had interiors were just about okay but the view was nice. The biggest problem is the management once you check in you're on your own completely.I would just say beware of this place.

  • Stay here if you can deal with the stench and spotty wifi

We had prearranged the reservation before arrival. We have been to this compound for many years before since family members have a unit within. But even with familiarity it was very difficult to find the 'reservation' desk. And once there it took at least 15 minutes for them to call and have whomever to come by and assist us with the reservation. This indicates that there is service in general to the compound within Yanlord Gardens, but that these service apartments is a separate deal loosely affiliated with Yanlord. So the advertisement can put up as many descriptions about amenities but most of it will be extra (such as the gym and pool).
We were escorted to the unit by staff, and upon entry to the unit (we were in a two bedroom on the 26th floor) we noticed a smell, but too busy at that moment looking around and settling in. Saw that the windows to the kitchen and bathroom were open. Strange that during winter in February that windows be open.
Anyway, after signing the unit over we had the place for the week. This was the top floor of the bldg on the 26th floor with a great view of Lujiazui District with SWFC in front. Rooms and views were fine. Glad to see the Illy espresso machine and 5 packets. Obviously not enough for the week but had to do (this is an indication of lack of service obviously, wish they would resupply but they did not).
After closing the windows (since it was getting cold) in the bathroom we noticed the smell were of the raw sewage variety that one often smell in Shanghai. But it was particularly bad. Really had to hold one's nose, even with the fan on. We noticed that even with the fan running in the bathroom we would smell it in the adjacent bedroom. Furthermore upon return to the apt the first thing greeting us was that smell. Just nasty!
Roughly two days into our stay we noticed the WIFI stopped working, bars would appear on our phone/lap top devices but no download or upload happened. Calls to rectify this resulted in a tech person coming by and after about 15 min. he mentioned that something needed a new battery. He went away but never came back or fixed it. 10 min after the first guy left a second guy showed and did a similar diagnosis only to say nothing is wrong. Problem still not resolved. We continued our calls to management the rest of the day and nothing happened. We went to our relative's place in the bldg next door and downloaded all our emails for work.
Even though we rented the place with an additional bed for our son the towels provided were only for two people. A cleaner came by about twice during the week.
Overall, amenities are spotty. But the stench was horrible, we winded up spending much time out of the apt but for sleeping and showering, and whenever using the bathroom holding your nose. Even buying air fresheners for the bathroom did not help. This stench is probably something permanent in the way that the bldg and plumbing was constructed. As mentioned our relative's unit is next to ours in the same Yanlord Gardens complex and the smell not anywhere near as bad.
TV? Don't even waste your time since there were no instructions as to how to operate the TV. Intuition can only take you so far. I fumbled and pushed in combo the various buttons on the many remotes for 20 min and got no where. Figure if it's that difficult there would be some directions written down. Nope.
The location is great, since it is next to everything within walking distance. 5 min drive to Super Brand mall and a walk over to SWFC. But smell and no wifi for a service apt where expectation is that one would be working?! Intolerable.

  • Unprofessional & not worthy of your Money!

    Australia | Jan 18, 2026 | Trip type: Family

We had booked this accommodation from Sydney Australia a month before we travel.. we contacted them 2 times in that time to arrange for the baby cot and to arrange for a late check-in as our flight got into Shanghai at 10pm!. We were assured that that was all fine and that there would be someone to meet up at 11:30pm with the keys. We established and told them that we will be travelling with 5 young children and that it was of utmost importance for a flawless check-in. We were reassured on multiple occasions and given 2 numbers to keep in case we came up with any problems. We arrived in Shanghai as we advised them and were taken to the address. The place is within a residential area and no one was there. No lobby, no check in personel. When we called the numbers we were given, they told us that they don't know what we were talking about and that they weren't affiliated with Aquaspace! We were stranded at from 11:00pm-2:00 in an open deserted lobby in the middle of nowhere in a foreign country with 5 little kids... the Temperature was below zero!... We attempted many many times to call the main number and the 2 mobile numbers and no one wanted to help us! Finally a security guard came around and offered to take my husband to check for available hotels... They both left on a motorcycle whilst I waited in the cold dark deserted open lobby with 5 extremely tired and scared children in a country that i couldn't speak the language in. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing place and management. I do not recommend this for anyone especially if you are travelling with young children! beyond appalling!
