  3 of us stayed at this fabulous ,cool and friendly boutique hotel 12-15 October, unfortunately Finnair didn't deliver our luggage until 15th! Anna Yuan and Roxette couldn't have been more helpful in chasing the airport and airline every day /evening until we finally got our luggage. Nice relaxed atmosphere, great rooms, central location just off French Concession, we will stay here again, no such personal service in any of the big group hotels for sure.

  This is my very first review on Trip Advisor and I'm excited to be writing about URBN Hotel. My husband and I arrived on a red eye from Singapore at around 6 or 7 am. We weren't expecting to be able to check in at this time, but Anna was very accommodating and she didn't really have to be as we were 8 hours early. She offered us a free breakfast (buffet and off the menu) while we waited in the patio garden. Once a room was available, she would have housekeeping rush to get it ready. About an hour later, our room was ready and it was the exact one we wanted on the top floor with the garden view (I think it's called the executive garden view room). Anna was so apologetic about the wait and informed us that we could have anything in the minibar for free (again, it's not the hotel's fault that we were early). Every nook and cranny of this hotel is well thought out. So much to look at but incredibly cohesive. It could be a great case study for students of design and architecture. The room itself is what I would want for my next master bedroom -- sunken living area with built-ins (chaise, desk, sofas all connected in straight lines --- very Frank Lloyd Wright meets Mad Men), deep soaking tub, a stunning mix of polished concrete and reclaimed wood from the old French Concession homes, rain shower and, of course, a VERY comfy bed with incredible pillows. It is centrally located on a tree-lined street peppered with shoe and clothing boutiques and some eateries. It seemed to be developing more as there was a bit of construction. There was a moment where I felt like I was in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn. An easy walk to the Jing'An Temple subway that'll take you to the Bund within 2 stops and a short walk to the French Concession area. All in all, you can't go wrong with URBN because if you do find something wrong, they will do everything they can to right it for you at that moment. If we needed a taxi, it was there before the time we asked for it. If your air conditioning has a glitch, it will be fixed within minutes. Some modern hotels can seem cold, but URBN's execution of modern is perfectly cozy. So glad to be able to call this my master bedroom when I'm in Shanghai next.

  This is a great, clean and friendly hotel! I highly recommend it! The Happy Hour was great with free snacks, wine and beer. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. Very comfortable bed compared to many.

  It would be better if there were some instructions of the facilities and the idea of hotel's operation.It took me a long time to find the lights' on-off and looking for combs .The boy said nothing when he lead me to my room,not even a smile.

  Urbn is an amazing hotel in all senses.
  Location is walking distance from Jingan Temple. You don't want to be elsewhere.
  The hotel is modern, coizy, elegant, very welcoming, of course super clean, and environmental friendly. All staff speaks super good english, and all of them very, very helpful.
  Room is perfect. No need more words.
  There is a very relaxing and cool bar/restaurant area at the ground floor, where you can work, chat, eat ...
  What else would you ask for ?
