I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Old and expensive
    Hamid A
    Tehran | Aug 20, 2025 | Trip type: Business

Booked for room RMB 458 without breakfast and wifi. Cost of wifi RMB 38 per day .
After arriving to room found that there is no window . So decided change the room.
They offered room with window RMB 685 with breakfast without wifi !!
Paid for one night and changed the hotel in next day. Their price for such old hotel without wifi in compare of other hotels in the same Jing,an area is very high.

  • Oil massage with happy ending

Leicester, United Kingdom | Aug 10, 2025 | Trip type: Business

This hotel turned out to be better than I was expecting. The room was very nice, clean and a good variety of amenities. Breakfast was not what I was used to and you have to sit with other guests.
The bar is a NO GO area! Very expensive (coke is 38 yeun, if you go to the shop it only costs 4 yeun). Always girls asking if you would like massage with happy ending. They even stand around the elevator and you get this whatever time of the day. It gets very frustrating and they actually work for the hotel.
In the hotel entrance, there is a gentlemen selling fake watches. If you say no or brush him off, he will still follow you down the street persistently trying to sell.

  • An old hotel in SH, lovely but too old
    Qingdao_aborigines
Qingdao, China | Jul 17, 2025 | Trip type: Business

This hotel, well, it is toooooooo old. My coworkers booked this hotel for me. The area and public traffic is good. It is cheap, clean I think. The room and the service is good, breakfast is common style.

  • Great breakfast!
    Petalle
Midlands, England | Feb 9, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getaway

I stayed here for three nights as part of a tour and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a little old and worn in parts but it is clean and housekeeping is good. My room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was clean with no problems. Staff seemed helpful and friendly. The breakfast choice was excellent, better than most of the hotels we stopped at. The hotel is in a good location and even on our first day we managed to have a good walk round, even with the rather hair-raising roads. Wifi is available in the lobby areas but at the time I was there the chairs and sofas had all been removed for some reason. The only place to sit was the bar/cafe area. I would have no worries about staying here again and it made a great start to the holiday.

  • Some good. Some bad things
    Westgalady
Decatur, Georgia | Dec 7, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travel

I'll start with the bad. It took me 4 hotel keys and 3 trips back to reception, and 45 minutes with the night manager before I saw a room. This is a very old hotel run by the Chinese government.
Once I was in a room, it was lovely. Nice furniture and linens, spacious bath, lots of dark wood and glass throughout the room. There was even a gas mask in the closet to use in case of fire! WIFI was good in the lobby but I could find no WIFI for room.
Breakfast was ok, but not great.
The location is in a very busy area of Shanghai, safe at night, and lots of stores and restaurants. I was traveling solo so I opted to have dinner in the hotel. BIG MISTAKE trying the Japanese Restaurant. Terrible food and service, and high prices. I also tried the lobby bar and found no one who spoke English. I finally pointed to menu and ordered but they would not allow me to take the glass to my room.
