• Excellent service.

  I stayed in this beautiful hotel on Sept 20. We enjoyed excellent service when we stayed in the hotel. The staff alway give us a hand when we need. I left my plug in the hotel. I found this when I back to Hong Kong. I called the hotel to explain the case and ask them send back the plug to me around Sept 23 10:00pm. The staff, a good guy who service block 3 give me warmly reply and send back the plug to me. It is really appreciated. I would like to take this chance to thank him.

• Nice but with some problems

  It's a nice place with beautiful gardens. There's no problem with the infrastructure or the clining.
  
  Things i didn't like:
  -The managers BARELY know english. I had a problem with breakfast and i checked out of the hotel without solving it cause it was IMPOSSIBLE to talk to them!
  -breakfast not included for all the staying
  -very FEW vegan and 100% vegetarian options in the buffet. Everything had pork, chicken, or egg in it.

  This is a five start hotel spread across a very wide landscape. It's very difficult to imagine a hotel with building of not more than 4 floors. This hotel falls in to that category. It has lot of building including separate villas, bunglows, meeting rooms, conference rooms etc.
  
  Good location. It is said that the this hotel was being used for high profile people such as Foreign ministers and diplomats previously. You can the figure out this by the quality of the facilities, the interiors and various art works used of decorating some of the buildings of this hotel.
  
  The hotel has quite amount of open place converted to gardens and lush green landscapes.
  
  The rooms were of normal size but the amenities in the room where of good quality.
  As an Indian vegetarian I did not enjoy the food at the hotel. For non-vegetarians the hotel has a lot to offer.
  
  5 minutes walk from the hotel and there is an underground Metro station Shuicheng Road. Easily accessible by taxi and hotel staff is helpful in getting taxi if you need one.
  
  Overall good stay.

  This is area is very very expensive and the cheaper hotels old and of poor standard ! The rest 5 star international brands and extortionate ! This Hotel is wonderful ! And perfect for the thousands of Jewish visitors who wish to be close to the Jewish synagogue as only a 5 minute walk ! The grounds beautiful so much natural beauty , the staff friendly and can speak good English , nice well kept rooms , great prices , and nice food , also a great price just 625 RMB ... only 12 km to Hongqiao Airport .. a good choice !

• Elegant classic place in Shanghai

  This is a somewhat older hotel, but very nice. It is located in it's own private park, with a number of buildings scattered through it. The buildings are only a few stories tall. Service is top-notch.
