Ok but
salthound
england | Oct 9, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessRecently stayed at this hotel on a business trip to Shanghai. On arrival, I checked in but found that the level of English speaking at the hotel was limited. Managed to make myself understood and all was ok. The rooms are distributed around what is like a campus so it was quite a walk to the room. However the room was comfortable (the bed was very comfortable) and spacious.
The breakfast was very chinese, which is ok but this does have the feeling of being a chinese orientated hotel so some things feel strange to a Westerner. Also the hotel is located some way from central Pudong and getting a taxi to bring you to it may be sometimes difficult. The metro (line 2) is a 5 minute walk away so that offers another option and is certainly useful for visiting PuXi and other locations in Shanghai. -
Good hotel

Menen, Belgium | Aug 27, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI'm a bit surprised to see the negative feedback a few of the guests have posted here. I've stayed in this hotel a few times when we had a stand on SIAL.
English is a bit of a problem at times (but that's the case everywhere in China).
Breakfast buffet is good and when there are a larger number of foreign guests they'll have a wider (non-Chinese) range of foods. Try to avoid being in rooms in the outlying buildings, they are older (but not as bad as I read here in my experience) and always clean. Staff was always friendly and helpful though it does help having a native speaker with you. Biggest problem is getting a taxi into town (and more importantly back to the hotel - Shanghai taxi-drivers are picky and the hotel is located away from the city center). Someone else mentioned that the address is misleading and indeed we did have taxi drivers who had a problem finding the place back and needed some assistance from my (Chinese) wife to find the place. Wifi is available but not all that fast. I enjoyed my stays at this hotel. -

Melaka, Malaysia | Dec 18, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessNot a great experience as had several "disagreements" with the management about the limo pickup at the airport and return as I requested that it be added to my room bill but they wanted cash. They also take a sizeable deposit when you check in and as soon as you are over (even 20RMB) the receptionist will start chasing you to settle the amount (happened to several guests as I was standing at reception). Could not sort out the limo service with the hotel but managed to convince the driver personally who agreed to take me back to the airport and charged me less than the hotel would.
Informed the manager who came to see me that my company would be removing this hotel from our "company hotel list".
Oh room was okay which is why I gave it 2 stars
