Good hotel, distant from downtown
GastronomicusNZ
Christchurch, New Zealand | Oct 14, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesAll the Intercon trappings, spectacular lobby, particularly good restaurants especially ECCO. The hotel is close to Shanghai railway station ( about a 10 min walk) in a slightly quieter area that is some distance from the Bund ( (20 mins by taxi at good travel times) 45 at bad. We stayed in a club suite, which was huge. It's in a separate tower. The club is not as good as some Intercons ( happy hour is somewhat restricted on the range of drinks, no single malts, no real cocktail abilities etc). Service is good and friendly on the whole and we had good use of their concierge service. Prob wouldn't pick a club suite here again. Internet was spotty but not sure if this is the wifi or political prevention. Expensive.

Great Value

Sydney, Australia | Oct 8, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe location is good, the rooms are also good, the club lounge is great but deserted. Got given nice upgrades and generally received good service from front desk staff.
Room service was quite bad for western food, Chinese food fantastic.
House keeping tried to charge an extra cleaning fee for blood on pillow. When questioned about the charge, was told photos would be produced, then that it wasn't blood but perhaps dye - waited for the photos but they were never found and the fee eventually waived.
The hotel itself occupies 3 buildings, the place is massive! They have a whole building for Club Intercontinental, its a ghost town. -
Pretty good.

Dallas, Texas | Oct 3, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessStayed 5 nights while my production company was filming a tour group. Food was pretty good and the rooms were spacious but the location doesn't have much around except for Starbucks. Only stay here if you are taking the slow train or don't mind being away from everything. Also my room had a strange mildew smell to it. They did provide an air cleaner but that only did so much. Customer service was also pretty good for China but not the best.

Good location slightly away from downtown

Sep 30, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI like this hotel.
Of all the Shanghai hotels I rate this hotel highly for location, style and service.
It's not near the bund. So if you want the tourist expletive there will be closer hotels
Close to French confession which is by far the better area to eat drink and relax.
Good shooing nearby
The toilets in this hotel have to be experienced.
The rooms are really big and the whole hotel has a feel of quite class.
Fantastic gym with all the equipment you could want. Great pool also.
If you want to be near the action but not with the tourists and stay in a classy hotel that's not overrun this is it.
It's very close to French concession and -

Manila, Philippines | Sep 28, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessRoom, breakfast, amenities were excellent. But what is causing me to review this hotel is the caliber of the staff and how they helped me out. I left a bag on my arriving plane by accident and only realized it when arriving at the hotel. Soul, the concierge was quick to call the airline, Loki his assistant went to the airport to retrieve my bag, and Martin the front desk manager, checked me into my room without the required credit card and offered me some cash for the evening (as my wallet was in the lost bag). Truly a great experience for me. I had my bag by 10pm and was able to attend my business dinner that night as planned. Hats off to these three guys!
