Come on... For that price, it's great

penang | Sep 23, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayNo offense but I guess being a season traveller in China and having stayed in real rundown 'rice restaurant' to six star hotel, I would give this place a 2.5 star. Indeed the review given was quite true but hell for USD22 per night, show me better hotel in Shanghai. You got the mrt around the corner, convenient store besides it and even a damn police station in front of it. What's more can you get for USD22??
Room is around 16sm, TV is flat screen and all Chinese station, bed is hard but not like the floor, toilet is big and amenities given, no restaurant in the hotel, 24hour reception and one lift serve 6storeys. Wifi is ok, neither strong nor slow but common speed
We were a group of 12 people having arrive at the hotel at 2am and was surprised what a nice lobby we have and the reception thou look tired was smiling to receive us. Check in is 10 min and we were all in our rooms right after, no deposit required and no keeping of our passport or whatsoever that rehired credit card etc.
Don't stay here if you expect 3 star above but if you wanna know how Shanghainese life is like... Try this place as you can sense a very deep neighborhood feel around the hotel. -
I wouldn't say good but its cheap

Singapore, Singapore | Jul 26, 2025 | Trip type: Familyin terms of location, it would work if your primary means of transportation would be the subway. It is between north zhongshan road stn and shanghai railway. There is nothing really tourist in the area so you have to take the train and go elsewhere. The hotel is beside all days (a 24hr convenient store) which is really helpful for grabbing stuff in case of emergency. A couple of restaurants or street dumplings in the area as well But you need to be able to speak mandarin else it might be hard to communicate. In terms of hotel price i guess its really cheap, they change the towels as well daily.
Cons, it's a budget hotel so dont expect service or what. In the morning its quite noisy because you would hear ppl outside talking. Also the hallway may have the smell of smoke as well. -
Decent, comfortable, cheap

Stockholm, Sweden | Nov 30, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesRecently booked in here for 2 nights and then stayed for a third night, via booking online again, as it was cheaper that way. Staff spoke English. They allowed us to check in early. Room was a decent size, large double bed, desk, TV, internet (of which did work - just ask for the password).
Only downside, some of the corridors stunk of smoke, and the walls in the room are not "soundproof", contrary to what is stated on booking.com.
Location is decent enough, close to Shanghai railway station, but probably even closer to North Zhongshan road.
If you want a comfortable room, no thrills, this is the hotel -

Aug 11, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessDon't eve bother to try this hotel. It was my worse experience ever; after 14 hours of travel I arrived to this hotel; to my surprise the rooms were horrible, smelly, dirty and I don't even want to remember the bathrooms. I had to stay one night because I arrived at 1Am and didn't have a choice but I was so worried to catch a deseasse or an infection. So better get a different hotel don't be fooled by the management pictures and the price I think TripAdvisor is the best source of information. I wish I had checked this site before.

Don't.

Feb 1, 2025Just don't stay here. Don't bother. Location is nowhere near anywhere you wanna go, the taxi drivers don't even know where it is!
There is no customer service, it's run down, rust in the rooms, and in a very dirty part of Shanghai.
Just don't!
