  I have stayed in this hotel 4 or 5 times because I can walk to my work site when I am in Shanghai and the business rate is very good in this expensive city. It is right next to Fudan Medical College, so this is where the visiting professors and researchers stay. The area is easy for a non-chinese speaker to handle, there are restaurants and stores where you can get any travel necessities or a meal on your own easily enough, very good shopping a short walk away and an nice park to run or walk in, without being on the pricey BUND. It is a health college area so most of the kids on the street can speak several languages and are happy to be helpful. This is nice for a chinese hotel, the rooms are clean, the bath is supplied with enough soap and towels, and the desk staff and room staff try to be helpful. But it is clearly a chinese hotel in that it takes 30 min to check in even if you are the only one at the desk. The in-room frig is stocked but it is usually 60 F not 40-45 F. The gym room opens at 8 am and the in-hotel restaurant is pretty bad, don't bother with breakfast or coffee here as it is poor, Starbucks around the corner and although I never go in one at home, i use it and oatmeal and fruit from the Carrefour rather than eat the breakfast here. The clientele is generally older and academic, so you won't have much noise inside the hotel unlike many places, and there is no KTV (thank goodness). The air con system generally works, but the windows are not caulked or sealed at all, so take the smaller rooms on the inside of the semicircle as the road noise in the upgraded outside rooms is awful, but least you won't oversleep.

  A good hotel. good location with nearby 24 hrs convenient shop and metro station just few steps away. The room is a bit dated but clean and comfortable. They even provide turn down service and chocolate at night. The front desk officer are always helpful to answer questions.

  I always book flights and hotel on hipmunk.com due to extreme convenience (try it!). This time my host, SJTU, booked the hotel. It is a very clean and comfortable setting with only a couple of drawbacks for me. First, the bed is very firm, so this is hard on a side sleeper like myself. Second, the dinner menu has no western dishes. Breakfast is a mixture of east and west however. There is a Starbucks next door. The staff is very helpful on all things. The TV has CNN and all the CCTV channels. I stayed an 8th night due a typhoon

  I stayed here twice on business for a few nights. There's nothing wrong with the place, though a bit oldish maybe, smoking everywhere and not too much of restaurants and entertainment, but rooms and service are great and the price is very low.

  Located next to Zhao Jia Bang MRT and 24hours 7/11 and family mart, it is very convenient for me especially when my office is just at the next building.
  Great in-room amenities, sewing kits, weighing scales, shoe polish cloths and such. Service is average, gym facilities is a little dated and quite limited, have been there about 4 times for work so I know pretty well.
  All in all its not too bad for the price and location.
