Comfortable and excellent location
Reissurouva
Helsinki | Sep 14, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe hotel is slightly hidden, because the reception is on the 12th floor and the entrance is not very clearly visible on the street side. This is not a problem at all, as soon as the right elevator is found. Once at the right floor, the greeting was very welcoming and the check-in procedure was comfortable. The room was large and very clean and e.g. electricity sockets were readily available for charging the computer and mobile phone. The most delightful items were the unbelievably comfortable bed and bathrobe. The breakfast room is comfortable and there is a wide choice of Western and Chinese items that vary each day.
The air-conditioning needs to be turned on every time after entering the room as it is turned off when the key is not activating the electricity. However, it works very quickly. The internet connection was a little slow and the choice of non-Chinese TV programs is very limited. However, these were very minor minuses compared to the positive elements that made this a very nice hotel experience.
The hotel also has an excellent location right next to the subway station and with plenty of restaurants and shops just next door. -
Short city break in an excellent boutique Hotel

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam | Aug 21, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesVery good hotel, service with an individual customer service experience, the view of the Nanjing road and the Temple from the room was great also.
I had originally booked the Hilton but after reading the reviews and seeing that there were mostly bad points compared with good I changed which I am glad I done.
Check in on the 12th floor was very personal with a sit down desk and complimentary drink on arrival. Rooms were great, clean and very spacious. Bed was amazing, probably the best point to the room, we both slept great and the pillows complimented it totally. Even the bath robes were so comfy to wear and everything just worked so well together making this hotel an excellent option.
The swivel TV allowed us to chill on the bed in the morning watching and then to the other side to sit on the sofa with a glass of wine.
Breakfast was very good, fresh local dishes with choices that suited all nationalities.
Only negative was that room service finished too early at 2000 and even afterwards when I asked for a bottle of wine I was told we couldn't have one, this request seems straight forward as the duty nightshift staff could quite easily facilitate this request, I think so anyway.
Anyway apart from this the overall stay was excellent, we shall definitely return to this hotel when we come back in 6 months. -
A Good Hotel to Stay In

Burgess Hill, United Kingdom | Jun 19, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessStayed here for a few nights on my business trip, very warm welcome by all staff with great detail of attention - the bell boy in particular was very attentive.
The hotel in part was being renovated with scaffolding outside however this was not an issue - my room was superb being an upgrade to a suite - very nice indeed and was very clean. The breakfasts were generally Asian as one would expect however there was a good choice of Western.
I certainly would stay here again especially as the location is near to our office near to the exhibition centre.
The location is also good being central with a wide range of shops and restaurants however it is some 20 minutes or so away from The Bund but not an issue for me as this was a business trip anyway!. -
Good value, but no AC/HEAT

St. Petersburg, Florida | Apr 25, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesFor the price point, The Paramount Gallery is a good choice. The location is perfect. My room faced the ancient Jian'an Temple with tremendous views of the city. You sit literally atop Metro Line 2's Jian'an Temple stop. During my visit in late April, the hotel had no AC or heat, and my room was uncomfortably warm at 26 degrees Celsius. It seemed a bit ridiculous to be paying $150 per night for a room that was too warm to sleep in.
I was a bit concerned about the room when I first checked in. The room is very large, more so than your average hotel room, but the worn furniture and stained carpet had me worried that the place was unclean. My worries were for naught because housekeeping did an exceptional job, and my room was spotless.
The other place that the Paramount fails to live up to expectation is with the staff. I usually rely on the knowledge of the front desk staff to make my trip go smoother. Basic questions like, "How do you take the metro to the airport?" seemed to flummox the staff. I was surprised that the didn't know the answer to this, and many other basic questions. There were some exceptions. There was a bellman who was very knowledgeable who worked days that I tried to direct all my questions to.
I don't think I would return to this hotel. I love the location, and would try to find something nearby. It would be worth the extra money to have the basics like AC, and heat. I should also mention that the Gym was disappointing as well. It contains only 3 machines, and the treadmill is really dated. I opted to run on the streets rather than use the poor quality fitness center. -
A mixed bag

Christchurch, New Zealand | Apr 2, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyStarting with the positives, this hotel is very centrally located and, for the most part, the staff were very helpful. Unfortunately our stay didn't start very well. We turned up after a 12 hour flight to find out that the room we had booked couldn't fit all four of us - this is despite me having emailed the hotel to double check that the room could accommodate fwo adults and two children. The hotel staff were pretty useless in sorting out the situation and we ended up paying quite a bit more for a room that still didn't have enough beds - we finally took matters into our own hands, grabbed some extra linen from a housekeeping trolley, and made the sofa into an extra bed. To be fair, the staff did redeem themselves to some extent by being very helpful for the rest of the stay but, all in all, it ended up being poor value for money - especially given that the facilities were pretty average (tired decor, unreliable WiFi) and there was limited attention to detail - for instance we only got one bar of soap our whole stay and not enough towels or pillows, and dealing with housekeeping was an effort because of the language barrier. I basically think you can get better value for money elsewhere, especially if you are a family of more than three. We wouldn't stay here again.
