Great Location, Luxurious, best pool in Town
RajnSonal
London, UK | Oct 26, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI am a regular traveller to Shanghai a few times a year, and have been travelling there since 1998. For many years I stayed at the Marriott Executive apartments in Pudong which was 'home from home', when this closed down early this year I was devastated.
I had never considered staying in Lujiaziu, due to high end shops, food and generally everything being 'high class'. Yes I am a bit of a champagn socialist. With its bling and everything being so over the top, it was always a no no.
But the IFC did surprise me. As soon as you walk in to a normal large door, nothing glamorous, the doorman states welcome home, once you enter the pre-floor elevators, the LED screens state 'welcome home', and you enter a large living room, yes a living room with sofas and tables which go on forever. Just like your own living room at home.
So you have to go through the 'living room' prior to entering a 2nd batch of elevators to the main residences. None of the elevators give that 'ping' noise, which has irritated me for years, and reminds you that your not at home.
The residences are small, don't offer that spaciousness that the Marriott offered, but the décor is warm and comfortable, as with the bathrooms and kitchen. All well and comfortably decorated.
The hotel is quiet, probably due to the prices, but them gives it the exclusiveness.
The breakfast was a little disappointing and limited, as I expected a chef to prepare fresh eggs as in most 5 stars, so I never really bothered for the balance of the stay.
The best part of the hotel has to be the swimming pool. One of the best pools I've swam in, at exactly the right temperature and they must be using some type of water softener system. Overlooking Pudong, absolutely amazing.
Overall, no complaints, if you are looking for a fully inclusive 5 star, with restaurants and bars and room service. This is not the place. However if you prefer to be left alone to your own devices, like you would at home, this is the place. -

Great place to stay

Oct 11, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI was living in IFC during my August September 2015 stay in Shanghai. It is amazing place to live and great starting point for visiting Shanghai. Clean and nice apartments. Helpful and very friendly staff. Amazing swimming pool on 25th floor with sauna and jacuzzi. Gim facility on 26th floor, opened 24/7. Beautiful lobby where you can spend your time reading book and drinking coffe. Close to subway line 2, where you can start your sightseeing and to different malls, where you can spend your money.
I was staying in suite with great view on Puxi area.
Really recommend this place! -
Very nice hotel

Sep 28, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyThis hotel is located in the heart of Pudong. You can immediately go into the IFC mall, where there are a lot of good things to eat, including the Jade mansion restaurant or any kind of Japanese food. The bed is comfortable and soft. The cleaning each day is good, despite we cannot add a bed in our room if we do not pay the price of it. The facilities are good, including the room and the clubhouse above the hotel. Some light tubes in our room were burnt out before our arrival, but that does not really affect the lightining in our room. The price and the breakfast buffet was good, despite a rude and ruthless male waiter in glasses. This hotel is an excellent choice in Shanghai and I recommend you to this hotel.

Great value for 5-star quality

Singapore, Singapore | Sep 17, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessStayed for the first time for two nights in September and will continue to come back when I'm in Shanghai. The location is very convenient with IFC mall directly connected below. The common areas are very luxurious and have been extremely well-maintained. I was upgraded to a 2-bdr apartment which was total overkill as I was staying alone. The unit itself is 5-star quality. The best part is the price, which is several hundred RMB cheaper than the Shangri-la across the street or Ritz-Carlton next door.
