Comfort for Westerners
elpavorealblanco
Chapala, Mexico | Oct 13, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayLarge rooms. Terrific comfortable beds. Very complete breakfast for both Asians and Westerners. Central location - short walk to Metro station. Friendly, helpful staff. Quiet. Expensive drinks and food. Simple soft drink is equivalent of $8.00 USD. Glass of wine is $14.00 USD.

Enjoyed our stay

Edmonton, Canada | Oct 5, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyWe decided on this hotel since it was close to the subway and relatively easy and quick to get to the Bund and Pudong. We took the maglev train from the airport and then transferred to the subway. It was a bit long but definitely doable. There are some areas in the subway which didn't have escalators so I wouldn't recommend getting to this hotel by public transit if you can't lift your luggage by yourself.
Check in was quick and we were given a room on the 27th floor. We unfortunately didn't get a Pudong facing view but the view was impressive non-the-less. The rooms was large and very clean and all the amenities you'd expect from a Sheraton were there.
The swimming pool was also very nice. The hotel staff did enforce the rule of wearing the bathing cap which most hotels in China seem to do. We had brought ours but we always tried swimming without it first to see if someone would say something and in most cases they did.
The only real negative to this hotel is fairly common in western chain hotels in China. It is the outrageous cost of the hotel restaurants. There are so many good and cheap places to eat in China we don't often use hotel restaurants but this time we wanted a quick breakfast and decided to go to the buffet. The price was not only ridiculous for China but even insane for Canadian standards. The breakfast buffet was about $60 Canadian which was way over priced for what you get. We didn't pay attention to the price before eating so that was our fault but never would have I expected such a high price for breakfast.
Other then that we would stay here again but we wouldn't eat there again. -
Memorable stay

Gurgaon, India | Oct 4, 2025 | Trip type: Familywe were there in shanghai for 3 days and stayed here. abt 1hr from airport.
checkin was very fast and we were upgraded to the club room on 37th floor. amazing view of bund from there. rooms very very neat and clean, good breakfast with wide spread. good gym and pool. just opposite to the metro station, so very convenient place to stay. will return for sure -
Nice place to stay

Sep 28, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe moment I entered, the tasteful decorations of the lobby welcomed me..
I will appreciate interior decorators who designed it.
Room was very good and all the amenities were available and most importantly the rooms are very nicely and intelligently decorated.
However, one thing intrigued me ...why access card point in the lift for going upstair was not near the console of the floor button..which was found to be just above the floor of the lift and below the floor switches...it was not at eye level or chest level...what was the logic behind it! It took me a minute just to find it out...no doubt very inconvenient for a first time visitor like me who checked in for the very first time in this hotel.
Also, for an international traveller there should be more option of TV channels at least the news, sports channels in English which made me little bit frustrated.
Breakfast spread was awesome and I reiterate that the ambience of the hotel was very nice and all the staff in the front desk were very cooperative despite their limitations in English language. -
Luxury Hotel, Great Location

Brisbane, Australia | Sep 28, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessHotel was very high quality - 5 star quality.
Room was great, I stayed on 19th floor with views towards Pudong and the Pearl Tower - spectacular at night when it it is lit up.
Location is great, right next to Hailun Rd metro station, which has 2 lines intersecting - very convenient for getting around the city.
There are plenty of food options in the hotel, although it is on the pricey side, as you'd expect...
Not a huge amount of food options within a short walk, but I jumped on the metro most evenings and headed towards Nanjing Rd or Yuyan (3 stops / 5 mins on metro) where there is plenty of dining choices.
I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks while on a work trip, but liked it so much I arranged to stay on extra days at my own cost.
Highly recommend this hotel both for business or holiday.
