California | Oct 23, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessWhile this hotel lost some of it's style a while back, this time around things seemingly improved. My room was spotlessly clean, maybe even renovated since my last stay.
The customer service on all levels has improved the most from my last stay. From a very helpful concierge to service staff at the restaurant, all put their best efforts toward guests.
The breakfast buffet has also found a nicer balance between local and western choices.
The only minor minor flaw that ownership can improve upon is that strawberry jam they offer? What the heck is up with that lowest of low-quality products? -

Birmingham, Alabama | Sep 29, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelThis is one FANTASTIC hotel with a great staff. I was upgraded to an executive suite on the 39th floor with a view that was so unbelievable that sometimes I would just gaze from my window in awe. Every bit of what I would expect from a 5 star hotel. I highly recommend this hotel!!

Just about right for a 1 night stay for business
Abhibasu
Kolkata (Calcutta), India | Sep 22, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI stayed at this property for 1 night 19/20 Sep 2015.
I had work in the business district close by and this was very convenient. That is about all I can say about this Hotel. It is quite run down with, for example, stained carpets all around. I found the concierge particularly unhelpful when I requested him to get me a taxi on a Friday afternoon. He called and then said "no taxi wants to come here" and suggested I use Uber. He lost all interest thereafter in even trying and I saw many who just went off on their own to find a taxi on the road. Keep Uber handy.
Breakfast was good and the staff in general were helpful. I did not use other facilities.
The room was functional at best and the washroom was clean. It had a circular bathtub and I wouldn't recommend anyone tall enough to even try it! I had a nice city view.
Beware - there is massive construction going on in the front of the Hotel but I did not hear any disturbance from the 31st floor.
If you have a flight to catch I recommend you descend to the checkout counter a good 30 minutes prior to taxi time. There seems to be rush all the time and the desk seems quite overwhelmed. -
Less than I expected from second trip

Kiev, Ukraine | Sep 13, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI stayed in this hotel about 2 years ago, it was great back then, great service and people.
I went again for business trip about a month ago. The room has a nice view, so so for English. I noticed most Chinese on their phones, guess that is the new service. During dinner, I saw one large party of people, and people staff running around this Chinese older looking lady with medium length hair. She didn't say hello or smile, and staff was busy with her party, they tried to catch up with other people, which there weren't many, but that lady had many demands. I found out that the lady works there. Wow I was shocked that the hotel management is allowed to do that, never in Europe is this allowed. I wouldn't have went to eat there, but there is nothing much around the hotel to go eat, and I was too tired. Next time, I will ask my company to cancel the contract with this hotel. I feel disappointed that service quality went down compared to how it used to be for foreign guests. -
Never fails to deliver !

KELSO | Sep 4, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessYet another great stay at The Eton Hotel in Shanghai! It's always a pleasure to spend time there. Fantastic rooms, especially the Premier and Executive ones, a great choice of food and onsite restaurants and amazing customer service. I've been staying there for my Shanghai trips now for some years and haven't yet felt the need to consider another hotel. Well done yet again to the staff at The Eton Hotel.
