Nice and Clean
Mohammad R
Nov 18, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessGoing for Nikko hotel Shanghai? good for you ;)
1. building is nice, luxury and clean. in first look, it seems your choice is right.
2. Checked in 2:00 AM. stuff were sleepy but smiling. and take lots of time to check in!!
3. Stuff`s English language was poor. we had to explain too much.
4. Room was clean, cozy and comfortable. quite in night with the high way in front of your window.
5. Internet connection was only good enough for checking mail (GMAIL and GOOGLE is not working in china !!! ).
6. Breakfast is nice. everything you ask for a 5 Star hotel is included. and Chef for omelet knows what he is doing ;)
7. you are looking for pool? there is a good one.
8. you can reach your level only. no other levels is available for you. if your friends are in different level, you could be in trouble to reach them.
9. Bath room was good. a bit small but good for one person.
10. checking out is taking so much longer that you think.
11. Buffet price is not what you want to spend your money on it. terribly expensive.
12. having only 3-4 nights and business all day long. so nothing was important except good sleep. -
nice rooms and that's about it

Hong Kong Region, China | Oct 27, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI have been staying at Hotel Nikko for 10 days every month for the last 2.5 years, yet not one staff seems to ever remember or care. Nice and clean hotel with big and comfortable rooms but that's about it. Room service is lukewarm and bland at best (some items are constantly sold out), lobby bar service is painfully lame, internet is practically non-existent and stops working regularly. For a Japanese business hotel my expectations are much higher.

5 star hotel

Singapore, Singapore | Sep 15, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThe hotel was great. Although I only stayed 1 night. Breakfast was good too. All amenities were ready and the bed was comfortable. Only problem was getting a cab during peak hours. The concierge want of much help. In the end, we had to use the booking app after waiting for 30 minutes

a typical 5 star business hotel

Taipei, Taiwan | Jul 21, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessNice big clean room, comfy bed, bathtub with TV ..., all is good except the WiFi in my room wasn't working, I believe it's just a single incident.
Didn't have a chance to check out gym and pool; ordered a sandwich from room service, wasn't very good.
There's not much within walking distance: there's a Family Mart across the road, a cafe behind the hotel, some small eateries beside it, that's about it. -
Horrible ... just horrible

England | Oct 28, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessWell ... where to start. I dont really even see the point of going into too much detail I'm that angry. So I'll keep it brief.
*No wifi in the lobby - said we could only use wifi in our rooms. Business hotel - I dont think so
*Put me in a smoking room. I dont smoke. Asked to move, they said no available rooms until 24 hours later
*Room was also dirty, stains on the sides - not clean in general
*Key card wouldn't work in the lifts for 2 out of 3 days. Had to keep changing the card. Soooo frustrating
*Reception staff spoke barely any English. Any communication with them was painful. Seriously painful. Now I dont expect everyone outside of England to be fluent in the language but when you explain that something has been left for you at the hotel and could they look for it. To be told there was nothing left over and over ... and then find it in a colleagues room when we eventually gave up talking to them ... so so poor. What if this was an emergency package?
*Went to get food one day in the bar area - again, barely any English. Took talking to 3 people to get a menu to be able to order some food. Also £4.00 (400RMB) for a can of Diet Coke. Excruciatingly expensive
*Trying to get a taxi was painful. One morning was outside at 7.20am to catch a train and was still waiting at 7.45am. When we'd asked to prebook a taxi, was told by the reception staff 'we do not do that here'
Overall I dont really have anything positive to say about this hotel. Avoid at all costs if you need to be on wifi or have anyone understand you. Expensive hotel aswell. Not worth even half of what we paid.
Actually - one positive, we had a bellboy on the last morning - checking out I asked him to try to get me a taxi to the airport. He duly obliged and when I went back to grab suitcase, the taxi was there waiting and he has told him where to take us along with the terminal. He was the only ray of sunshine on an otherwise bleak stay
