Decent room
JoeandMargret
Toowoomba, Australia | Jun 24, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyBooked this hotel on a "Mystery 4 Star" deal through Wotif. I was very nervous after looking up TripAdvisor once I knew hotel name.
Well... we were pretty happy / lucky.
I requested non smoking, and quiet room. We got room 6033, well towards back of the hotel, but we're very happy with our room. A little stale air - but no cigarette smoke so that was good.
Hotel is very close to Tesco supermarket - which was great as our airline lost our luggage. Also a short walk to Yu Yuan gardens. The market & food stalls along the way are well worth a look. -
Great location, everything else average

Reading, United Kingdom | Oct 25, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelThis hotel is placed really well near to what you're most likely to want to see in Shanghai. The bund and old quarter are minutes away by foot which is a real bonus when navigating the city as it gets busy.
The decor wants to be higher class but it just doesn't quite pull it off despite a valiant effort. It's perfectly fine to stay in, just don't expect all the little touches you'd receive from a hotel where big receptions and fancy exteriors are the norm. For example, the shower floor was scratched/chipped in my room, another guest complained there window overlooked simply another persons window...it's the little things.
The wi-fi was free - always handy to keep in touch when travelling and breakfast was ok. A decent enough selection, again nothing taste wise that made me think 'wow'. Biggest disappointment was the bell boy who refused to book a taxi and stated we should walk to our next hotel with our bags. Eventually he offered to flag down a street cab in the evening. Most surprising and not becoming of the type of hotel this ones decor is trying to present itself as.
If you stay here you won't have any complaints on location or, in my experience, basic facilities but I guess the key is don't expect too much. Then again, for a few nights in Shanghai you're unlikely to want to hang around the hotel very much!
Would I stay here again? Yep. -
Ok

Hong kong | Oct 17, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessFairly cheap and ok location and rooms big and generally liveable. Breakfast average and by day three you my want something else. Would recommend this hotel only for a cheap short business stay in Shanghai.... Not really for a fun holiday and most westerners there were either budget or realised they had made a mistake.

Last stop in China

Dublin | Aug 14, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayThis was our last stop on our 2 week trip to China.
Nice hotel, stunning lobby and good location.
Room was very nice but rotted wood in bathroom door unpleasant view.
Breakfast area very big and not disappointing in choice available.
Was 40 degrees when we arrived in Shanghai , bit too hot for me so glad to find umbrella in wardrobe to shade us outside.
Over all a great stay. -

Sulaymaniyah, Iraq | Jun 30, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayWe stayed at this hotel for the last 3 days of our 14 days trip to China. A great hotel with great service, food was excellent, rooms were just amazing, clean, elegant decor and plenty of stuff in the miniBar. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were spotless and bathrooms were very clean.
I would definitely go back
