The perfect location
smithsinlondon
Far Hills, New Jersey | Oct 25, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessJuliette at the front desk started the check in process perfectly. The room was beautiful - 2607. The breakfast was good, though I struggled to get any help on the Chinese side with the soup. The bathroom was beautiful and very clean. The bed was a bit hard for my liking but I think most would be fine. Only small complaint is I accidentally left the do not disturb sign on - easy to do there are lots of buttons - I returned 16 hrs later to an unclean room - I'm not sure what to suggest maybe a note under the door saying if you'd like your room cleaned when you return let us know - when I called down it was pretty clear that sending housekeeping was going to be a problem so I dropped it and dealt.

Great location and atmosphere

Brussels, Région De Bruxelles-Capitale, Belgium | Oct 16, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesI stayed here for one night with my wife and we were both impressed on the design of the room. It is here where we were really presented to the future of the hotel industry. The room had a very modern, yet warm feel to it. Next to that, you can personalise it by changing the ambient lighting by using the in room ipad. Also my compliments go out to the " grotto" style bathroom, very nice feel to it!
Location is great as it's near the cosy Xintiandi area and it is easy to get around by taxi to all central areas and metro stations.
Got a good start of the day by doing a few laps in the basement pool, followed by a huge breakfast buffet which is oriented on both Westerners as Chinese.
I can definitely recommend this hotel if you are in for a pleasant, modern surprise in Shanghai! -
Great experience!

Shanghai, China | Oct 14, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessStayed here for 2 nights on business - great rooms, fantastic location!
Checked in during Happy Hour and the common area was totally hopping - definitely felt like a cool party boutique hotel in NYC. Not a regular check in type of space and the staff doesn't wear uniforms so wasn't quite sure if I was in the right space for check-in or it was guests just hanging around computer terminals. Both for check in and check out the staff were great with amazing English language skills (not always common in SH).
The rooms are well thought out and a good sized space with great bathrooms (with fab Japanese toilets and cool showers), although surprisingly the toiletries are not great quality. Super comfy bed and very cool lighting options. Non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar are free and great view from my room.
Very convenient location in Xintiandi for dinner since there are so many options, including some at the hotel. Breakfast was not included in my rate and hotel breakfasts are always so ridiculously overpriced so I ate at Wagas close by enroute to my office.
Internet was easy to connect, worked great and, based on some of the sites I was able to access that I can't access at other hotels, might have a VPN included.
Would stay here again for the room and location. -
Avant-garde Operational Style
Elaine L
Ithaca, New York | Oct 1, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayI stayed at Andaz Xintiandi from July 13 to 16 this past summer when I visited Shanghai with my friend. I loved Andaz’s cutting-edge concept and operational style. First, Andaz adopted an open-table front desk approach, and we felt a warm and personal welcome from the front desk receptionist standing next to us. Second, the iPad operating system in our room allowed us to access all the services directly. We enjoyed the convenience and efficiency that came with this system. Third, room service breakfast sets in the morning offered a great variety of delicious items. Waking up to such good breakfast just made our days. Hence, I strongly recommend Andaz to anyone who is looking for a stylish boutique hotel in Shanghai.
