Very good location and reasonable price.

Melbourne, Australia | Oct 16, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesClean, nice service, great location, reasonable price. The breakfast was so so. A little bit noise during night time. No too far to the Bund, Yu Garden or People square. Many restaurants and shopping centre here.

Location shanghai CBD!

Ellenborough, Australia | Oct 7, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyWalking distance to practically everything you need. It’s on Nanjin road east and easy to walk past as reception is on floor 7 - floor 1 being the ground floor as us foreigners know it. You need to take the swipe card to go anywhere.
We stayed in room 1007 which initially had one large king bed and we had a single bed arranged for our daughter who was travelling with us. The room was quite reasonable in most aspects and well appointed. Shower was good and hot although you do need to be a bit careful as the bath can get slippery once wet. Also on the important list was that the room has its own western style toilet (as compared to no toilet or a "squatter") the price for the room was very reasonable - at least if you book on the net and compared to other offerings around town. As with everything nearly in China a passport is required for check-in as is a 300 yuan deposit - make sure you don't lose the receipt! Hotel staff were helpful and friendly and notably (compared to our experience at other establishments) the booked price did not change on arrival or worse when they discovered foreigner’s had booked. Hung Hao - Very good!
Breakfast which was included with our room (there were 2 included with our booking and we purchased a third for our daughter for 20yuan) which was ok, However, seemingly common for Chinese breakfast everything was near cold. It was still fine to eat however and even the coffee was not too bad (there is a Starbucks down in the pedestrian mall if you are a coffee aficionado! Be warned breakfast finishes promptly at 9am and the restaurant (same place) closes at 9pm. They will serve you after then however they are less than enthusiastic and less choices which is fair enough.
There is free WIFI seemingly everywhere you go in China and each floor had its own router with good signal strength in our room at least. However, the most important thing before travelling to China is to install a (good) proxy service (make sure it works before travelling!) - otherwise you cannot access google anything (no Gmail either) and lots of other sites dependent on the whims of the Chinese great firewall.
The hotel as previously mentioned is in the thick of the CBD action and you can walk to the bund area then to the river (cruises are available) and the French section. There are plenty of street stalls and food in restaurants abound as does the quality of the offerings... The only other thing about wandering any street in China in general is lookout for errant bikes and motorcycles that ignore traffic lights and even one way street directions. Throw cars into the mix and it can all get a tad crazy - the countdown timers on traffic lights are great and there is safety in numbers - cross with the local’s en-mass and quickly! The easiest way to find this hotel is look for the giant thermometer on the outside of the building.
Overall a good place to have as a "base" camp. -
Great location

Mumbai (Bombay), India | Aug 24, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe hotel is located on the busy Nanjing street, a great location to explore lots of stuff.
There are 2 metro stations at a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
There are a couple of pubs right next to the hotel and plenty of other restaurants.
The room itself was clean. There was a neat water dispenser, with both cold and hot water (which is preferred in Chinese tradition)
There are plenty of touts outside on Nanjing street, don't accept any offer. Some will try to sell stuff, some polish your shoes forcefully, some will ask if you want to have a coffee and the restaurant will give you a massive bill (they're both in on it), anyone who offers massage services will look to rob you. -

Bargain!

England | Jul 16, 2025This hotel simply gets 5 stars for what we paid. Absolute bargain. We had a clean room on the 16th floor with great city views. Bathroom was nice and comes with the usual complementaries. The room also comes with a water cooler and minibar. The breakfast was ok and better than others in China. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again myself.
