I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

the hotel are located near to Nanjing Road (Shopping ~ 5 mins walk), The bung (Attraction ~ 25 mins walk) & Yu Garden (Attraction ~30 mins walk). I would said it is the cheapest 3 star hotel you can get in this area. The hotel is not so bad, just a bit old and not well maintained. If you are a traveler wouldn't like to spend too much on fancy hotel but good location. I would recommended the hotel to you. Wifi wasn't work during my 2 days stay here. Lobby Toilet are a bit dirty. The rest are ok.
Note: There will be a lot of people offering message/ outside the hotel, DO NOT take any of their offer if you don't want to get into trouble. DONE TRUST any local stranger offering you anything during your stay in Shanghai.

We are world travelers, retired and on a budget. We rate budget hotels. We expect problems and understand the balance of budget vs service. We stayed at the Charms Hotel in Shanghai. It is rated 3 stars. We stayed 9 days.
Pluses. The hotel is centrally located and walking distance to all major attractions. Lots of nice artwork around the reception and common areas. Overall, our room was clean. Beds were very comfortable. Bedding was clean. Amenities were available as described in booking sites. Flat screen TV worked. Internet worked ok but for the government censors. Elevators worked. Maid service is good. Bottled water every day. All lights worked. Plenty of hot water. Toilet worked.
Minuses. Don't believe the pictures that you see in the booking companies. Check the guest pics. As for the hotel room itself, there were the typical problems of a 2-3 star hotel. Air conditioning worked but be warned,. There doesn't appear to be fresh air added to the mix. Stale air. Open the window and listen to the melody of honking horns. I am an a/c tech. When asking for a room, request a quiet room, not a room with a view.
Rugs were stained and the furniture was scratched. Loose screws, sagging doors, loose electrical plates etc. No shelves in dresser for clothes. Worn out towels. Very few shelves and hooks overall. Grout in bathroom dirty. One skinny tp roll a day. Room seemed very small compared to pics on booking site.
The check-in was slow. Not enough staff. Few English speaking employees. The English speakers were overworked so that they answered your questions but were brief and did not elaborate. Only one was very helpful. . No maps of city. Restaurant was disorganized, poor selection, and noisy while we were there . Better prices outside.
Would we stay here again? Well, it's way over our normal budget but all in all it's reasonable and well located if you can live with the minuses.

We enjoyed our stay! The location was central to shopping, restaurants, subway and the Bund. Everything was within a 20 min walk. Staff were friendly. Room showed some signs of wear but was still everything we needed and we got our rooms for $65 USD a night which are normally almost $300.
