I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

Perfect location, walking distance to many key attractions. Delicious breakfast. Don't miss out on having a drink on the rooftop terrace, probably the best view in Shanghai.

Service of all employees is impressive

The Hyatt on the Bund is a modern four star property and we loved staying there. The rooms are clean and modern with great views of the Shanghai skyline. From the automatic curtains to the quiet AC the rooms were top rate. Don’t expect over the top luxury but all quite good. The buffet breakfast was excellent, the fitness Center and indoor pool top notch and the views from the European restaurant on the 30th floor at night are nothing less than beautiful. As a Discoverist member was given a late checkout and upgrade. Easy walk to the Bund waterfront.

Shanghai, China | Jul 27, 2025 | Trip type: Business

I was in the Bvlgary Hotel Shanghai last night till little after 1am. They closed the BVLGARY Bar at 1am. But the night was too young. I just walked to the Hyatt on the Bund. 10/15 minutes Shanghai Walk. The View Bar of Hyatt on the Bund was still open for another hour or so. These boys are experienced. They don't push their customers, especially on a Friday night. That may be one reason that The View Bar is so popular and packed all the time. Weekend or No Weekend. But the wi-fi is a pain in the butt. May be too old technology and the Chinese property owner doesn't want to spend money for it.

Hyatt on the Bund is a very special hotel in Shanghai. It's not new and it's not too old. It's a big hotel with a huge lobby lounge and lot of space. Many famous people came to Shanghai in the past and stayed here. There is a mini Hall of Fame near the front desk. All the pictures speak for itself. I like the environment of this hotel. Very relaxed. Positive vibe. And nobody is trying to bomb you with too much services. Gym, Swimming Pool and Spa are not too fancy. But it's all good. Lot of outlets. Almost five six of them. Multiple Restaurants and Bars (The View), Tea Room etc. But the funny thing is they charge for coffee in the morning near the lobby. Many hotels in Shanghai don't.
I was here last year twice for two big events. In the summer, it was the Kylin Night Gala Dinner, during the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), hosted by Kylin Pictures in the Grand Ballroom with a wow wow Chinese traditional dinner. So much food. That was a great event. Later, after the summer, it was the Australian Ball organized by the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai Chapter. That was a fun night too. I took a picture with Craig Willis (Owner: Bang, Pelican etc). I was there till late, late, late until the last person left. In the past, it was always about events. This year, I came to the Hyatt on the Bund, more for personal time, mostly at The View, a spectacular rooftop bar, one of the best in Shanghai.
This is my 5th Summer in the Shanghai Hotels. Four years in twenty two hotels. I live in the hotel. Hotel was my home before with my children. And Hotel is still my home now but all alone. However, things are changing. It's becoming my life. And I am trying to add more new things to this life everyday. After all, No Home, No Life!

  • Fine hotel with world class views from the room

Shanghai, China | Jul 22, 2025 | Trip type: Family

Our family spent several nights at the Hyatt on the Bund in early July 2018. I can certainly recommend the hotel. Clean rooms although not luxurious, although the river/Bund views from the rooms can't be matched. The Hyatt has a very nice breakfast buffet, lots of western, Chinese and Japanese selections. Our kids, nine and 11, enjoyed it greatly. The hotel pool is very nice as well, very family friendly. The Hyatt has a good concierge and allowed us to store two bags at the hotel for a week, which was incredibly convenient for us on our tour of China.

Beautiful hotel with warm friendly staff. We had booked the rooms with views of the the river & city. These where the corner units only one on each floor. Spacious room with separate bath & shower. Their was a beautiful restaurant & bar with views on the Bund as well, u have to make a reservation as it gets pretty full. We spent news years in Shanghai. Lots of police & army patrol on the streets. Went on the boat cruise on the Bund. Was awesome and with breathtaking views. Visited the shanghai tower, tallest building in Shanghai, due to the weather view was not the spectacular. However was still awesome. The lift was amazing we where up within minutes on the 128 floor. There was a small souvenir & a coffee shop with snacks & muffins.
