Newly decorated hotel at affordable price. Good location, very close to Shanghai city centre. Once arrived, they didn’t have the room type I booked which recently happened to me many time in China and they had to upgrade it. The room has wide windows with nice view, I could even see the CBD a little bit. Everything inside the room was perfect. Very pleased with this hotel, recommended.

No particular issues in choice of room (either street or back facing).

From the communication with the hotel via email to the check out time, Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Puxi was just great impressions and good memories.
I am a Marriott Gold Elite member so the hotel generously ungraded my room to the Executive room. The lady at the lounge entrance remembered me by name and the lady at the noodle section remembered my taste on the second day. This is a big hotel and I was so impressed that the hotel staffs remembered my name and taste after the first interaction. The manager, Mr. Ryan He, was so nice gave us a big smile at our check out.
Breakfast and happy hour at the Executive lounge was excellent. Lounge was well decorated and spacious enough.
The hotel location was also perfect to navigate the city. Line 1 Hanzhong road subway staion is just a few minutes walk way from the hotel and line 1 is the best subway line for tourists.
I will definitely stay here again when I visit Shanghai next time.

This new Courtyard is the largest in China, explained Ethan Zhang, with nice clean room and an executive lounge. Comparable to Marriott and Renaissance brands. Best of all, walking distance to Shanghai railway station...which is much closer to the city than Hongqiao station. Nice!
