Manhattan Beach, California | Dec 3, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI have been staying at the Shanghai Hilton on and off for nearly 5 years and it will be sad when it is no longer in the Hilton brand family effective January 1, 2018. This hotel has a great staff, it is ideally located in the French Concession on the Puxi side of Shanghai and is close to a number of great drinking (Oscers & Zapata’s) and dining ( Simply Thai, Sasha’s and Bella Napoli) spots. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. As I understand it, it change to a Chinese brand in 2018. I guess I will have to find another Hilton option in the future.

They assisted us and helped make special arrangements possible for our company event in Shanghai. The location is ideal and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are efficient and willing to help. Transportation from Hilton is also easy. You have the Jing An subway station an intersection away, a bus stop right across and cabs are quite accessible.

We have stayed at the Hilton Shanghai many times but it is always the staff in the executive lounge that makes our stay wonderful. All the staff in the lounge are always kind, helpful, attentive, and provide impeccable service. Also, the food and beverage in the lounge is very good. We mostly eat all our breakfasts and dinners there. We sadly have heard that the Hilton Shanghai will be changing hands at the end of 2017. Fortunately we have also heard that a lot of the staff will remain.

Executive lounge ambience, food and staff brilliant

Nov 21, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesHotel has some real plus points - 1, the location is fantastic, near an amazing Temple, the Metro (which is easy to navigate without speaking Mandarin) near the Nangjing Road, 2 stops from People's Square and 3 from the Bund. 2, the spa has a great charm, the hot tubs are literally boiling! 3, the executive lounge is superb, the food is top restaurant quality, the staff especially Colin Li and the team are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and they are so attentive, just wonderful service. The slight negatives, the add on services from the hotel are twice the price of those nearby - the hotel car, promised a lexus, got a van! Which was 5 times the price of a normal taxi! Finally the hotel needs some updating and sadly won't be a Hilton next year. We had really great stay.
