Great team of employees at the hotel Renaissance Yu garden. Everybody was so polite and helpful, especially the employee John, who helped a lot me and my family with our difficulties. He was very friendly and made my stay in Shanghai really pleasant. Thank you, John amd the hole team of employees at the hotel. I’ll certainly be back soon.
Good hotel in good location but there is better in Shanghai

I booked this hotel for ~$125 a night for a Club Level room. I did not want to spend too much money since I knew I would arrive late at night, and I needed lounge access as I had a meeting in the morning and I needed a space to work. So this hotel was good for that.

The lobby is quite big, three levels up from the main entrance. Check in was sufficiently quick, and the staff at father front desk spoke good English. I shared a room with a Co worker, but they only had queen size beds available and charged us $20 a night for a rollaway bed - quite expensive if you ask me else ially since online I did not have the option to select a bed type.

The room was nice, clean, with comfortable bed a nice bathtub. We had a view over a construction site - not the best.

The fitness center on the top floor, however, was very nice, and so was the infinity indoor pool from where you could get a nice view over Shanghai’s skyline.

The Club lounge was good in size and offered a good breakfast spread - only marginally inferior to the one offered in the main restaurant. In all honesty, food was not that great - a shame as I usually enjoy breakfast in Asia very much.

I did visit the lounge for happy hour, which was decent. Overall, the space got a bit crowded, but we did not mind as we always fond a spot somewhere where to sit.

The hotel is located close to the beautiful YuYuan (Yu Garden) which I suggest you visit whether on business or holiday.

Overall, this is a decent hotel in a good location in Shanghai.
