Good Location and Value
Caprimax
Miami, Florida | Feb 14, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayAs a first time Shanghai visitors I'm pleased we stayed at this hotel. It is very conveniently located, four blocks away from Nanjing Road, and a short stroll to the Bund or to People's Square.
Our room was nice, clean, and well equipped with windows that opened to a nice view. As other reviewers have pointed out, we also experienced some discomfort with the room being too hot, but we called the front desk and they sent someone to fix it within minutes. Breakfast had lots of Chinese & Western choices. We found the staff friendly and eager to help. There was always someone there that spoke English.
The area is interesting and varied. There are lots of places to eat around like The Paris Baguette Café almost across the hotel. If you venture away from the glitzy shops of Nanjing Road, you will find yourself in the world apart of the small side streets: there is one full wonderful artists supplies shops which I found fascinating.
I ate in the almost empty Flying Elephant Russian Restaurant in the hotel and the food was just ok. Nothing to rave about, but the staff was simply wonderful.
Yes, I would stay there again. -
Good Location

London, Ontario, Canada | Jan 16, 2026 | Trip type: CouplesThis hotel is in a good location and you can walk to most of the attractions downtown. Staff is friendly and helpful but many of them do not speak English well. The breakfast are not very good and I would recommend eating at another location.

My third time staying here in Shanghai
sanglee012017
New York City, New York | Dec 18, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThis was my third time staying here in Shanghai, so to a certain extent it automatically ranks on the higher side in my mind. From a cost, location and practicality it's a good place to stay. If you are looking for high end service and hospitality, you should look to pay more at a different location. If you are looking to be busy in Shanghai, this is a good location.

The Bund Hotel, Excellent hotel near the Bund Shanghai
Jeroen64
Amsterdam, The Netherlands | Nov 29, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesStayed at the Bund hotel Shanghai during our China tour. Hotel was chosen by our tour operator and was an excellent choice. The hotel was nicely situated at not a great distance to the famous Bund, the shore boulevard, opposite the financial hart of Shanghai.
The room was more than spacious, great comfortable beds, lots of space with desk and chair and loaded with all the necessary amenities. Hotel has a nice and quiet ambiance, friendly staff at reception and great breakfast buffet. Internet quality was good, in our room and in the rest of the hotel.
I certainly would recomend this hotel for a visit to Shanghai.
