Okay, but no luxury
Jens J
Denmark | Oct 24, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayThe hotel rooms had what they needed but the bed was a bit hard.
In the basement there is a free fitness center with a swimming pool. Remember that this swimmingpool is a part of the fitness center so you can only swim in lanes. Also you have to wear a swimming cab. -

Unexpected surprise
David R
Lijiang, China | Sep 15, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayThis hotel was definitely not what I expected.
You see, I expected something terrible and it ended up being wonderful. I went to Shanghai to spend some time with a friend from abroad who was staying for some days in the city. He was staying at this hotel and told me to stay there so we didn't have to go to all the trouble of coordinating if we were in different places.
But when I looked for the reviews online they were appalling, so I had serious doubts about staying there but I trusted my friend's judgement and I am glad I did.
I took the only room they had available at the time. I thought 333 RMB a night was quite expensive for a normal hotel room. But my room turned out to be a suite, with its own living room with a big TV, kitchen, laundry machine and everything. So for that price I think it was a very good deal.
The room was really comfortable and every day they kept it clean and nice. Because I just stayed for a few days I never used the kitchen facilities other than the fridge, but I did notice there were no plates, glasses, silver ware or any kind of kitchen utensils, again for me this wasn't a problem but it may be so for someone staying a long time.
I also did not try the hotel restaurant, but you really have no need as there are plenty of options for eating all around the hotel, from cheap and local to expensive and international. For example right next to the hotel there is this very beautiful Japanese restaurant, its a bit pricey but I thought it was really nice.
But for food your best bet would be the great food court at the nearby mall. The one where the subway station, they really have everything you may want for a decent price and great quality (For westerners that having been in Asia a food court at a subway station may sound not great, but believe me this is kind of posh even).
The location of this hotel is incredible. Not only it is close to a subway station, its a few minutes walk from trendy Taikan Lu pedestrian street, which is full of galleries, bars, coffee shops and restaurants. Its also a measly 20 RMB taxi ride away from the French Concession and about 30 RMB to the Bund.
The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a hair saloon. I didn't try those out but the pool looked quite nice.
So I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Shanghai. I seriously don't know where those terrible reviews come from, but they did not match my experience in this hotel. -
Poor hotel

Pune, India | Jul 15, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessFront desk Staff of this hotel is very rude and not co-operative. Most if the staff do not speak english. Front desk staff literally yell at guests. Room has dusts on some of elements. Restaurant does not serve any good veg food.

Waste of money

Jul 2, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesLets get something straight not by any means a four star hotel, basically a two. We got a room on 31st floor, the room wasnt even fully painted, microwave blocking the tv, barely cleaned and the view was of the city. Really not worth the price, i rather go to the mariott or anywhere else. No drinks anywhere or anyt
hing really offered, and the service absolute waste of time. Will not be coming back, oh yes the elevator questionable. Though one positive thing, quite a nice comfortable bed.
