Kettering, United Kingdom | Oct 19, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessIf you're lucky to have one of the rooms on the higher floors you will have nice views across Shanghai out of the floor to ceiling windows. The room I was in was a good size with a lovely bath that opened into the room. The free wifi worked well. If you're in town to go to an exhibition at the expo centre be warned its a 20-30 minute drive.

There are plenty of local restaurants nearby and across the streets, and there's bakery around the corner on Pang Yu Road, and massage in the back alley. Metro # 2, JiangSu road station is about 15 minute walk.

Shanghai, China | Aug 2, 2025I'm very much of two minds about this place - on the one hand, the staff were efficient, courteous and friendly. They lent us a DVD player for our staycation, came quickly to repair the sink and delier extra pillows when asked. On the the other hand, the place looks pretty tired, the breakfast was bad and the gym was not up to scratch.
Nonetheless, it's located well: Zhongshan Park metro station is a hub for lines 2, 3 and 4. The Global Harbour Shopping centre is just one stop down line 3/4 on Jinshajiang Road, West Nanjing Road and Jing'an Temple are a few stops along line 2. You can't beat that kind of convenience. -
5 star hotel in a 3 star location

Canberra Australia | Aug 1, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThis hotel is not near anything and is not even walking distance to a metro. About a RMB35 taxi ride from Hongqio airport but getting a taxi back from the hotel is a nightmare. Also the tax drivers get confides is the address Eat of WEST! If you end up outside a very stern building with no English then you've gone the wrong way. Bad luck,. it's another RMB20 to get it sorted, and another 30 min in the Shanghai nightmare traffic.
The taxi queu at the hotel was about 30min, no taxi seems to want to stop there and that was not even peak hour. Too far to haul luggage to the metro.
No local shops, plazas, etc. No local hairdressers etc. There is a major street about 15 min walk from the hotel, turn Left for hole in the wal eating places.
This was booked by the company organising but I've stayed at far far better in Shanhai. Once o/night going to Taizhou, the other a week later coming back. Booked through Agoda only to find that the ,local agent could have got us abothe 25% off.
Won't be back again!
