  Good place for couple and quiet time facing beach, view is fantastic and you can see many couples choose the place for wedding photo shooting. Room quality is good. Very clean, spacious room with balcony. Bed is very comfortable too

• Quiet low season bliss

  May is a very hot month to visit so there are markedly fewer people.
  Location: quiet Bay Area. 30 minutes by car from the airport.
  Pool: very large pool with pavilion jacuzzi. Varied depths and interesting. Water was a bit too warm - I blame the sun.
  Room: deluxe ocean view room has a deluxe ocean view. Bath water supply was very tiny, but was fixed later.
  Thai restaurant: highly recommended, highly authentic, commendable.
  Breakfast: good buffet, could do with better sausages and more fruit variety.
  Beach: easy access to public beach. Fine sand, rocky surface in the sea. Small waves.
  Kids club: a bit tiny, not many facilities.
  Service levels: don’t expect too much - Hainan people have an island mentality. They get the job done but don’t care much about providing a good feeling. This is not a hotel problem, it’s a Sanya problem.

• Better than expected stay

  Clean, quiet, serene and great. Away from main dadonghai but if u want to get back to tranquility it is perfect.
  
  Only issue is slightly difficult to get a taxi as a foreigner and if you don't have didi and taxis usually don't go so far in to the area. But other than that,nice pool good breakfast and don't think the other reviews were accurate especially the negative remarks on cleanliness..our main intention is to come back to a place less crowded and noisy and anantara nailed it .

• Quiet Time of Year - Quiet Levels of Service

  The Positives:
  
  The Villa was huge with a separate bedroom/bathroom/dressing rooms and a short walk round the pool came to the Living Room, massage room, outside spa bath-tub and relaxation area - the One Bedroom Villa is the biggest we have ever stayed in (and that is saying a lot).
  
  Pool was 'okay' although has filter/water-fall issues throughout and staff very kind to fix.
  
  Being Villa 6611 this is one of the last properties closest to the beach and so was perfectly quiet and only a 2 minute walk to the gym and the two main restaurants.
  
  Staff were very helpful with the exception of Breakfast Staff who seemed liked Zombies that had no real desire to help and most definitely could not communicate in English at all. Front desk staff and concierge were particularly good.
  
  The gym was 'okay'; has enough to be getting on with but again, the staff are NOT the normal Gym staff I would guess and water bottles left everywhere and no attempt to supervise the couple of other people I saw using the gym in full clothes and flip-flops - not gym-goers, just messing around on the machines and could have seriously hurt themselves.
  
  But the tranquility was just that - perfect quiet and just what we wanted.
  
  The Negatives:
  
  We knew that we were visiting 'off-peak' and it was going to be quiet - this was the attraction to us. But what we never realised was that seemingly ALL management would not be there and the staff that were there, were very much 'stand-in' staff.
  
  Most breakfast staff were half-asleep, had no English and whatever you asked them to do went wrong (even if they have a printed list of how you want your eggs, the chefs whilst being polite and trying to help always got what you pointed to wrong).
  
  Room service menu is hit/miss as many things we ordered the one night we stayed in, were not available; they cannot make any cocktails for room service as they never had a single person that knew how to make a standard Margarita.
  
  We visited Mediterraneo next door at The Inter-Continental and staff training, ambiance, cleanliness was so much better across the board and it does make you think that Anantara have a lot of training to do.
  
  Finally, if using the Marriott or the Intercontinental Hotels nearby as examples, their light bulbs are 'white' and the hotels look airy and bright - we accept the Thai look at Anantara and subdued yellow lighting throughout the whole hotel - but it makes the whole place look forlorn and depressing and that is not what you want from a hotel stay.
  
  In Summary; much to improve upon although it was 'low season' and we accept that. But if the standard of guests are 95% from one local country and they have money to spend and do not care what levels of service/ambiance they get, I guess that this might not change!

  Good hotel to stay ,relax environment,nice breakfast.But I got a bad experience for the shuttle driver.I wait on time at one of tourist stop .I show my hand the driver ignore me ,even I run to the car ,he didn’t stop .how come can wait one hr for next bus.
