• Beautiful hotel in Clearwater Bay

  I was there for a conference and didn't have choice of hotels. The trip from the airport is quite a distance, about 45 minutes but on arrival, the beauty of the hotel makes it worthwhile. My room overlooked to pool area and golf course. The room was bright, clan and comfortable, with a large area for working. The Clearwater area is a resort vicinity, so not much in the way of shops nearby and the hotel is able to quickly arrange local transport. All in all, ver beatify decor, with a nice pleasant ambience throughout the whole hotel.

• Run down, terrible service

  8 of us stayed here for one night recently. The hotel needs major renovation, tired carpets, paint peeling from walls, window tint peeling off, etc. the room was a decent size but you can't sting the water, the sign tells you, and there's no bottled water in the room.! No hand soap, no tea or coffee, although there's a kettle? We had a drink in the lobby bar and it was a major task getting the guy behind the bar to understand a gin and tonic.! In all a hotel that needs major $ spent on it, we won't be back, particularly as the Holiday Inn up the road is 10 times better.

  we went to holiday inn just one week before X-mas. there was a seminar which cause crowded during the breakfast and lunch time.
  the food is simple and normal taste. usual they provide noodle, bread, fried rice, boiled egg, fried egg, one vegetaby, one mushroom. there are two juice, mild, soybean milk and yoghurt for drink in the morning.
  the buffy in noon time is realy not worthy. it's better to eat at the Chinese restaurant for lunch or dinner. and you can select the set meal in the menu, it's more economical and practical. the service in the Chinese restaurant is realy good.
  there is a fruitshop in the first floor of the hotel, the fruits sold there is good and the price is even cheaper than in supermarket.
  the food provide in the lobby is expensive and taste not good. the cookies are hard to spit.
  the coffe provide in the buffy or mini bar is the worst i have ever tried.
  the room in the north side of the hotel is very noisy.
  the facilities inside are very old.

• Friendly Staff at Pleasant Hotel

  I traveled here with my 3 year old daughter for a short vacation at Christmastime. The staff were very helpful. I experienced a number of issues while in Sanya from one of my suitcases being stolen by a taxi drive on the way to the hotel and also a bad burn -- the staff went out of their way to assist me. The pool is very nice with several sections and fun children's inflatable pool toys to borrow. There is a also a fish spa located near the pool. We had a room with a view toward the ocean. The beach is just across the street from the hotel.

• An old but comfortable hotel

  This is what you can expect from a standard Holiday inn resort.
  The location is good, 5 minutes walk from the beach. 15 minutes driving to the airport.
  Room was a bit old style but comfortable.
  Service is good and up to standard.
  Price is cheap comparing to other IHG hotels
  Overall, a good hotel with good value. Good for budget traveler or someone who needs to catch up a early flight in the morning.
