Dunedin, New Zealand | Aug 7, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelJinjiang Inn offers familiar and reasonably priced accommodation with solid service. This branch gave a comfortable stay and the staff, although having limited English, did their best to answer questions - particularly about getting around. There are some cheap and reasonably priced chinese eateries directly across the road. The hotel is also very convenient for a local park with a picturesque pond. If you want to get to the rapid speed railway station, cross the road and walk right to the bus stop. If you catch the number 33 bus, it'll cost you only 2 rmb to get to the station with a 25-30 minute bus ride.

Cozy and convenient

Hong Kong | Aug 25, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelGood location, there is a bus stop just outside the hotel. All main attractions can be easily reached by bus or on foot. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable, but the soundproofing is poor: you can hear what's going on in the corridor! As it is located in a busy road with heavy traffic, it can be quite noisy. Try to avoid the rooms facing the main road.

Hong Kong, China | Jul 4, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelIf arriving at the bus station, the hotel is about a 5 min taxi ride or a 30 minute walk. Hotel address in Chinese is 温陵北路359号,锦江之星。
If arriving at Quanzhou at the train station then it is about a 20 minute taxi ride but will only cost around 30-40RMB.
The hotel is conveniently located a short walk from Dong Jie (East Road) with lots of shops and eateries. The park opposite the hotel is beautiful and well worth a stroll around. Kaiyuan Temple is also lovely. Quanzhou was actually a quite pretty city.
The hotel itself is comfortable. Jinjiang Inns are in every city in China and provide comfortable, clean and afforadable accommodation. The receptionist didn't speak English but I got by woth basic Mandarin. If you have a booking in advance most of the transaction can be done without speaking! You will need, as with most hotels, to give a cash deposit.
The beds are slightly more comfortable than most Chinese beds, the aircon worked well (a neccessity in summer - it was almost 40c), and the hotel had free wifi on each floor. (Password is nine nines). No bottled water provided but can be bought from the supermarket nearby for 1 Yuan a bottle. Bathroom is clean and functional and provide soap and basics.
Quanzhou isn't on most people's radar as a place to visit but I felt very comfortable there and was glad to have stayed 2 nights. There is plenty to see and do - expect a few stares as a foreigner but everyone was friendly! -
Decent business hotel for tourists on a budget

Auckland Region, New Zealand | Jul 24, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe stayed here in a twin room for three nights. We booked over the internet and paid around US$22 per night. For the price, the room was excellent - clean with modern fittings and relatively comfortable beds. There was also a TV, AC, a hot water jug and free broadband. Since it's a business hotel they also appeared to offer additional services (we received a different card under our door every evening). We didn't enquire but since it's Quanzhou the price might be reasonable though I would question the quality. Our only issue with the room was that the window didn't close properly so that led to a bit of noise coming through from the street. However, it wasn't as noisy as we expected at night and we slept well.
The hotel was in a convenient location; right outside a bus stop which serves numerous lines and within walking distance to Food St (Meishi Lu). If you're a keen walker, most of the other tourist sights, like Guandi Temple and the Maritime Museum, are within easy walking distance. To get to Kaiyuan Temple, it's an easy bus ride on No. 2 from across the road. There are also a couple of reasonable bakeries and coffee shops, including the Taiwanese chain 85C Bakery Cafe, two blocks south of the hotel. We had coffee and toast here most mornings.
To get from the long distance bus station, you can catch bus No. 2 or 15 along Wenling Lu. The express buses to and from Xiamen arrive and depart here. We didn't know what bus to catch when we first arrived so we took a taxi which cost 7RMB. Make sure you take a taxi from the street and not from the station ranks, or else they may take you around the block a couple of times. The hotel gave us a card with the buses you need to catch to get to the various bus and train stations. Everything was in Mandarin but we were lucky enough to have a couple of people on reception with great English who were very patient with us and helped us get around. If you're planning on going to Chongwu for the day, note that the buses don't leave from the long distance bus station like the Lonely Planet says. To get to the other bus station, take bus 15 to the end of the line. We've gone to the wrong bus station a couple of times so hopefully this will save someone extra hassle.
We thoroughly enjoyed exploring Quanzhou and were very appreciative of the help the staff at Jinjiang Inn provided. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable budget hotel in Quanzhou.
