  I came to Qingdao with my friends. Qingdao is a very beauty seaside city. I choose the Westin. Because my friends said it a good hotel. Every employee in the westin executive club is especially friendly every day. I am very grateful Daisy Song. She was very patient in helping me.

• Nice place, marred by inadequate customer awareness

  The Westin is a pretty hotel with all the amenities and lovely rooms. Everything about the hotel exudes quality and the high end materials and appearance that's the hallmark of recent construction in China.
  
  That apparent quality makes it a popular destination for business travelers and local tourists alike. The problem arises when you mix their customer base and fail to recognize and MANAGE the dynamics of that integration.
  
  For example: I was seated by the hostess at my table for breakfast, got up to partake in the buffet, and when I got back there was someone sitting at my table. In another instance at the noodle station, I was the only customer and in the middle of placing my order when 8 or 9 noisy, pushy local 20-somethings stepped in front of me and ordered their food. The cook took their order and cooked it like I was never there -- I missed breakfast that morning. It happened again at check-out. I was standing in line and next up when some guy just walked up to the desk in front of me. He was processed right away and I waited.
  
  I'm not an inexperienced traveler to China; I know this is the WAY. But all of these employees should be trained on how to handle these situations. The guy at the front desk saw me and knew I was waiting. He could have been firm yet polite with the guy that walked up and explained that there was a waiting line. The noodle lady could have done the same, as should have the restaurant hostess.
  
  Instead, I was the outsider, and I had to extend my patience. Not good.
  
  Additional irritations: (1) Two of the three elevators didn't have working floor displays; it was a bit of a guessing game and I had to be alert. (2) The internet is awfully slow, even by China standards.
  
  A bright spot: Jason and Alex at the lobby bar were terrific, welcoming, engaging hosts, and I truly enjoyed my time there on two separate occasions.

  This Hotel was booked by our Supplier partner, so I had no expectations.
  
  The room was huge, well appointed and the bed so so comfortable. Well appointed in all aspects for both the business and holiday traveller. Centrally located to the city. Thoroughly recommend.

  the best thing about the hotel is the location, which is right downtown, nothing else worth mentioning about
  
  the check-in process is SLOW, we waited at least 20-30 minutes in line, there were only 2 check-in counters
