Very big Hotel

Hong Kong, China | Jul 11, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe Intercontinental in Qingdao is massive. A very large lobby area and from there 3 separate tower blocks - some interconnected at level 3, where the main restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner is located.
We enjoyed a very good view from our rooms over the harbour.
The rooms were very spacious and nicely decorated. Ours had a separate lounge area with bed and bathroom behind a sliding door.

Decent hotel but disappointing for an Intercontinental property

Jun 25, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesPros: Loved the view of the city and Marina from the hotel room. Pillows, bathtub, gym, and pool were all quite nice. Cons: The hotel was very close to some big shopping centers, but a bit far from the main attractions of the city itself. The area where the hotel is located is quite sterile. Having stayed at several ICs all around the world, I was a little surprised by the lack of fluent English speakers among the hotel staff, even at the front desk! Luckily I speak Mandarin and could make myself understood, Staff in the buffet restaurant were terrible! I didn't book a breakfast package, so they interrupted us FIVE TIMES during the meal to inquire my room number, even though I had already told them that I would pay separately for my food. That was ridiculous. The lobby is a typical hotel lobby in China, that is, totally garish and unpractical. On-site prices for food and amenities were what you'd expect at a typical Intercontinental, it just wasn't a great price-to-quality ratio.

Was kindly upgraded to suite, which was very very nice. Room was clean, spacious.The bathroom was very large. Bed and pillows were really comfy.
Breakfast selection was very wide both for Westerners and locals. Overall service in the hotel was great. especially guest relation manager Lena, very nice girl. Recommend to everyone. -
