I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

We pulled up to The Majestic Hotel and Wow! the initial impression of the entrance and lobby, lobby bar and shops, was quite good. The guest room was not at all impressive. It was average and clean. The staff was kind and helpful. The restaurant on the main floor is good and extremely reasonable. We were there about 5 days and during our visit we walked around the area quite a bit. The surrounding area is safe and attractive. A short 5 minute walk to the People's Park was a highlight while visiting Nanning. Good location, great prices at hotel restaurant, shopping center and grocery store across the street.

After more than two weeks here on business I can say this not THE best hotel, nor is it anywhere near the worst. The poll and gym are fine, the decor okay and the rooms, at least in the No.1 building, huge. Some of my colleagues found the beds too hard, I found them about right. Staff are neither obtrusive nor obsequious, but the room staff are great, friendly and efficient. The shower was a massive treat and the neighborhood is interesting. For a business trip, this fits the bill perfectly. Not too much attention from the staff, but attention when needed, decent free internet, great shower and comfortable rooms for working.

  • Definitely worth staying in this hotel!

This MingYuan XInDu hotel is actually quite big because there are several blocks from No.1 to No.5 and and two of the blocks serves as hotel, while the other blocks used as multipurpose hall (no.5) or restaurant or spa centre. I stayed at the No.1, I love the room and especially the toilet is very neat. I love the shower with their masonry paved floor. I went there during the week of moon-cake festival.. it is packed with people lining to buy mooncake from the hotel; pretty lively actually. Back in 2010, I stayed in the other block of the hotel, the room was not as pretty as the no.1 block. but everything else is fine :)

  • NEVER BOOK WITH AGODA and avoid this hotel
    Mark R
    Melbourne | Dec 31, 2025 | Trip type: Family

This was my 4th time at this hotel, last time was almost 5 years ago. To say the place has gone to the pack is an understatement! And NEVER book with Agoda!
I booked and paid 4 months before our trip. Getting email confirmation TWICE that the times and rooms we requested were fine and confirmed! I also booked a vehicle through the hotel to take us from the airport to the hotel. As we arrived at midnight we did not want to struggle with 2 taxis when we had a 9yr old and an infant with us. The vehicle the hotel sent for 4 adults one child one infant and our baggage including the pram was a small sedan which could fit one suitcase in the boot, if we were lucky. So we ended up having to chase up 2 taxis anyway. Which ended up being 300RMB cheaper than the hotel was going to charge us.
We finally got to the hotel to be told they had no booking for us, no rooms reserved. Luckily I had the copies of the emails from Agoda and after showing this to the staff they "found" that we did have a reservation but not for the day we arrived but for the next day! The date I had booked for was 28th we arrived at reception at 1.30 am on the 28th, but apparently they count that as the 27th. Despite the fact that I had booked from 1.00AM on the 28th until 6AM on the 31st and had it confirmed twice and paid 4 months prior, this was not accepted.
Then we find that the rooms we had actually requested were not what had been reserved, for my wife and I we had two small single beds instead of the double we requested, for my daughter, her husband a 9 nine yr old girl and 14month old baby, they had 2 small single beds, that is all. So for the first night my daughter had to sleep on the floor.
The next day we were advised that we could move them into a larger room but at an added cost of 200RMB per night. We agreed but what they got was a huge imperial size bed, not fold out bed or single bed and a two seater couch. They were then told if you want to upograde again you can but for another 200RMB per night, we were beginning to see the s\cam that Agoda and the hotel can perpetrate!
I emailed Agoda "Customer Service" (What a misnomer that is) and asked them to assist, but of course they had our money months ago and did not even deign to reply.
The hotel is still ok, in style cleanliness and appearance, but very few staff now speak English, whereas previously many of them did. Breakfast is OK but like all Chinese hotels don't touch the restaurant coffee it is putrid.
With one to go of our stay we were informed that we had to pay more for the room as we had arrived "early". The hotel would let us pay cash at the same rate as we had paid when we booked through Agoda but said we either book through Agoda again or pay an extra 1000RMB per room. So I had no choice but to use Agoda again.
Room service food here is now the worst I have ever had. Cold "hot" food and tasteless shredded "chicken" burger. My daughter had even worse trouble wrong meals delivered and then trouble trying to get anything decent.
But, despite all this I think the topper was when we asked the reception to book us 2 taxis to go to my wife's family home for dinner. Sorry we don't allow taxis to be booked, if you want taxi go into street and hail one, "OR we can let you use our hotel van for 700RMB per time. We got 2 taxis and the trip cost 40RMB each way for 2 cars.
We were so glad to leave this place this morning. It is a sad indictment on the current management who have no idea on how to run a hotel.
We will never stay here again (Lets face it there are more than 100 hotels in Nanning and this one, whilst good 20 years is now rated in the low 80's or 90's in rank for good reason. IT IS SHODDILY RUN.
Do not believe the hotel website pictures the pool may have looked that good 20 years ago but not now and the "Fitness Centre" is a dirty little dank hole.
And remember avoid Agoda for booking hotels. Travel agents may cost more but at least you have someone who will assist if you need it. Agoda could not care less

  • NOT for families. Or people who appreciate customer service.

We booked ahead by 5 months for 2 rooms. My father and his Chinese wife in one room, myself, my fiancée and our kids (9 & 1) in the other. We requested a "family room" for the 4 of us.
When we arrived at 2am, which we had advised them was our check in time, they had no record of our booking. After a half hour of getting new bookings secured, they "found" our original booking, they tried to say that the booking was for the following night!! We were finally shown to our room after another 15 minutes of discussion, after having brought all our bags in while the desk clerks watched. Our "family" room turned out to be a small room with two single beds. They did bring a cot up for our son but I had to sleep on the floor.
In the morning we requested to be moved to a room that was sufficient for all of us, which they did for an extra $rmb200 per night on top of what we'd paid for our original booking. When we got into the new room, the rather than 2 single beds we had one big bed and no fold out couch!! Not sure how they figured that reducing the number of beds would provide sleeping accommodations for all of us!!
The breakfasts were Ok. I've definitely had better and fresher but it was edible. The coffee, sadly, was DISGUSTING!! We were on a forced detox for our stay. It was terrible.
We got a note under our door on our second night saying that security had "done a routine check" and found our door open but we were in the room at the time they claimed it happened so I'm not sure what the deal is there!!
The room service was abysmal!! We had my step mother order for us (in Chinese- and she's from Nanning, so she knows the dialect!) But they got the order wrong and delivered the wrong food, which was cold anyway!! When my step mum called, they tried to tell us that what they sent us was the same as what we ordered anyway!! It really wasn't!! What they sent back was the original plate, microwaved with an egg slapped on top. The veggies were stone cold!!
Overall, the beds aren't much softer than the floor and the rooms are dated and worn out.
I'm sure as a couple or a sole traveler the hotel would be much better, but for a traveling family it's just not equipped to cope. There has got to be better options for the money.
Wewon't be staying here again and I can't recommend this place for anyone with kids to go.
