I have been here for the past three days and have to say it is driving me crazy but in a beautiful environment......... There is virtually no English spoken or understood, the food is real Chinese and not suitable to our foreign tastes with the restaurant open for breakfast and on weekends for dinner. There is a Chinese restaurant but once again not really suitable to our foreign taste buds. There are no English newspapers except for the one I found which was 5 days old! There is absolutely NO TV in English which will be a blessing for some and no Google and intermittent internet. The music in the restaurant at any time open is the one same tune played over & over & over ......I now have grown to like it too. My room is very nice and with absolutely no complaints as to noise or anything else, it has a beautiful view over the lake & gardens and really perfect for my needs. The location of the hotel is remote to say the least and with a free shuttle to the Metro every couple of hours but with no return trip offered and about 40 minute walk back for us energetic types. The one amazing thing is when I enter the elevator and zap my room key it already knows my floor.......How do it know? Would I stay here gain......definitely not but have to say enjoyed the experience.

A quiet and spacious hotel in the quiet outskirts of Nanjing (which can be both an advantage and disadvantage).
The rooms are very comfortable and have all the amenities. Breakfast is excellent. The staff was attentive and rooms services well. It features a very nice garden , which is really can be considered as is a park given the size and pond it has.
It is a bit tricky to get to and from a subway station from the hotel, so taxi is your best bet.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and found it quite comfortable with all necessary amenities.
The main problem was that is was far from everything.
The other problem was that very few persons could understand English.
Also during our short stay they decided to refurbish the gardens and works started as early as 7am with more than 20 workers and trucks and earthmoving equipment.
The small quarter opening windows were not well insulated.
Also the housekeepers were very noisy cleaning next door rooms.

We have stayed at the Jinling Riverside hotel during 3 days in August 2013. The room (a suite) is very spaceful, and the amenities are modern and comfortable. The breakfast was of good quality and choices large, at least for chinese food. Breads and pastries may be less interesting.
The nice thing is the huge garden of the hotel with its ponds and pavillon.
Certainly it is not close to tourist sites. It is the choice if you are looking for some peace and rest.

We stayed here one night as part of our tour, in Room 223. Our room was spacious and comfortable, very clean and quite new. The bathroom was modern and had a great shower with plenty of hot water. Free Wifi was available. The lobby was impressive, very large and gleaming.
