Comfortable, clean
Bit_of_gardening
Perth, Australia | Oct 30, 2025My first experience of accommodation in China. The checkin/out process was seamless because it was done by our hosts. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. A few challenges with language, but staff try their best for us westerners who know no Chinese. The internet was slow and patchy, and access to some sites is blocked behind the GWC. If you want a beer from the bar, be prepared for one choice, and to be asked whether you want it warm or cold. Smoking is common in China, so be prepared some smoking inside (including in the common toilets). My room had no evidence of previous smoking, but I know you may be given a smoking room.

A nice hotel, but...
SHidayat
Jakarta, Indonesia | Aug 13, 2025I stayed in this hotel on 16th to 20th may 2014 for a regional training. I stayed in the 8th floor of the new tower. My room is a modern and specious with twin bed setting though I stayed alone. The amenities are OK and acceptable. The hotel wifi signal in my room was inadequate and hardly able to be used to access the internet. I can tell shortly that it is useless. The bathroom was great with bathup and shower. Towels were clean. The television channels were very limited for non chinese speaking guests as they only provided local channels and didnt provide the international tv channels. Oh, actually there was one channel of recorded version of channelnews asia. What an epic! So, quality news are very expensive and restricted if there is any.
For the meals, as a moslem I felt very dissapointed. Though I was aware that it was not 100% their mistake. For pork lovers, this place is your heaven. You will find pork in most of their meals, in you breakfast menu, lunch and perhaps diner (I ate outside for diner). I heard that pork is cheaper compared to beef. So no wonder why.
For communication, this is the major limitation of this hotel. Only very few of the staff were able to speak and understand even very basic english words like 'spoon', 'fork' etc. It was a little bit frustating. But the staff actually were nice people despite of the language barrier. I later found out that very few nanjing citizens were able to speak english. It is a major homework for the government.
For the location, the hotel is situated near to lion road (?) a pla e where you can shop and eat local cuisines. Their famous cuisine is salty duck. But due to some consideration I didnt try it. But my friends said it was nice.
in my last day, I participated into a city tour organized by travel agent recommended by the hotel. The lrice was around 55 USD per person all included. Fair enough for an 8 hours tour. But the problem was the guide didnt speak english at all. Perhaps she could only speak yes and no. At the end, we just followed them and took several photographs without really knowing the history of destinations we visited.
Overall, this hotel is OK for bussiness stay and would be better if the above homeworks can be addressed. Bon voyage. Selamat jalan jalan. -

Good-sized, clean, well-equipped rooms
Peter B
Adelaide, Australia | Feb 26, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesStayed at YishiYuan on two separate occasions during the busy Chinese New Year 2014 period in Nanjing. We stayed in the new part of the hotel only, so I know nothing about the older building. Both rooms were excellent in size, more than spacious enough for 2. The rooms were clean, quiet and didn't smell of smoke. The robes and slippers provided were of a decent quality as was the linen. The wifi modem had a glitch while we were there, but we piggy-backed of the next room, and so it didn't get in our way. The hotel is reasonably well located for tourists, being reasonably central to most sights. The buffet breakfast is only reasonable at best, so consider this if you get breakfast included in the price.
In all I rated it as good value for money overall, and I would stay there again. -
Excellent hotel

Hanoi, Vietnam | Sep 14, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayStayed for 2 nights with my friend and boyfriend and we hat great time, got a room on 8th floor with beautiful view. The rooms were cleaned perfectly and staff in the reception had very good english, helped us with ordering tickets for train to Shanghai. Location of the hotel is also very good, close to Xuan Wu Park, pedestraion Lion Bridge and to metro station which takes you fastly to Confucius Temple. We didn;t eat breakfast at the hotel, because 50rmb seemed too much but there is a very nice bakery nearby(turn left when you get on the street from hotel) and the choice is big. Would definietly stay there again!
