Reception on the ground floor was a little slow and could be more efficient.
The Room was as requested and the upgrade was a nice touch. The Sofitel Club room is spacious and well appointed with a large and very nice bathroom. The housekeeping staff are also very good. The Sofitel club staff were nice and friendly, without being overbearing.
Wifi is complimentary and worked well.
Breakfast in the main restaurant provides a wide range of dishes including a good variety of western and Chinese dishes. There is also a soup / noodles bar and an eggs / omelettes bar. The coffee wasn’t the best, but local beverages are better. They make nice crispy bread and the noodle soup bar is also good. The breakfast service in the Sofitel Club is better overall than the main 7th floor restaurant, but the range of dishes is limited.
The concierge service is professional and very good.
The Location is ok, though there is a lot of nearby construction for the subway and other major buildings. There are many nearby shops and restaurants as well as street food vendors. Transport is plentiful and easy to reach.
The club Sofitel provides a generally nice and peaceful atmosphere, though some guests choose to be loud when talking on their mobiles. Staff are very polite and happy to assist with a smile. The club serves a reasonable range of beverages, though sadly the Perrier sparkling water was often flat, so there could be a problem with quality control at the supplier. The coffee and other drinks were fine. The staff are very good and a special thank you to Wang zeMo (Momo), for her excellent service and always making me feel welcome.
Overall, a very pleasant four to five star experience; and thank you for the room upgrade. I look forward to my next visit to Sofitel Nanjing. Thank you and well done. -
