• Great stay at Raffles Hainan

  My wife, my 10 months old son and I stayed at Raffles during Chinese National holidays. A bit overcrowded and busy especially at breakfast but Raffles staff did well in serving in an always warm, friendly and efficient way.
  Hotel and its beach is beautiful. Hotel room (Grand Ocean View Room) was excellent. If you prefer staying in a calm hotel, Raffles could be the right choice for you. Only the variety of restaurants is a bit poor and slightly overpriced, room service a worth of money. During the day the pool bar/restaurant is also a bit unamusing, overall very calm and not really much to do, no water sports, no other restaurants or bars nearby.
  For a short stay a great choice, for longer holidays not convenient due to missing activities (except of golf course)

  The hotel has great and huge bedrooms with amazing swimming pools.
  We were very disappointed by the Italian restaurant: the food was just average and 2 accidents happened: we ordered a glass of white wine and it didn't come cold. When we said that it wasn't cold enough just by touching the glass, the waitress said 'Sorry about that' and left us with the glass. Also, after my beer has been served I took my glass and it slip from my hand due to the condensation on the glass. The waitress clean it and left. I wasn't offered a new beer and they charged me the beer on the bill (Breaking the beer was entirely my fault although the same thing happened to me in 5 stars hotels and they replaced me the glass at no cost. Moreover, it was a local beer which cost 0.5 Euros at supermarket and that they charged 7 E).
  The food at the buffet restaurant was also average with nothing bad but nothing good either. At a price of 60 Euros per person, that is not normal.

  We stayed at Raffles in September, and can only accentuate the positives (it was truly remarkable).
  The hotel is spotless, spacious and extremely well managed. We didn't bump into the general manager, though it's obvious he's doing a very good job. One aspect that impressed me was the impeccable cleanliness of all the washrooms dotted around the complex.
  Overall this is one of those hotels myself, my wife and children all gave a big thumbs up, and it's a place we all agreed to return to (before the end of year).
  Our room was beautiful - the showroom was huge, the maid service, concierge and all staff were friendly and warm - The kids play area was fabulous, and the huge lobby lounge is breathtaking........
  In our view, Raffles Hainan is one of those hotels you don't often come across, but once you do, you simply don't want to leave.
  Breakfast is amazing!

  We stayed in a grand ocean view room, the room was absolutely stunning. I am a constant traveller throughout China and abroad and the rooms surpassed my expectations, huge, all new, simply fantastic. Hotel grounds are immaculate, pools were great, decoration of hotel amazing.
  Thought the breakfast buffet was very good, i wish it was open for dinner. Unfortunately only the Chinese and Italian restaurant are open for dinner. We didn't eat at the Chinese one as the prices were astronomical. The Italian restaurant is way overpriced for what you get, food was average. We walked 30 mins and found a group of shops that had a Xinjiang restaurant that was very good and some other local eateries and a supermarket.
  My only complaint of staff was the service by the pool. It was only us and another couple by the pool, so was completely empty. I ordered a beer and a coconut water. 15 mins later still hadn't come, asked the waitress again. Another 10 mins and they still hadn't come so i walked into the restaurant to complain and here are the 2 drinks sitting on a tray on the bar. Not good enough, especially when the pool area was empty. Just got the insincere "bu hao yi si".
  The beach is extremely clean by the hotel, won't get better anywhere in China. I have been to Sanya about 5 times, it is the best i have seen here. There is nothing to do in the surrounding area, but i don't think you come here for anything else than to relax. For that the hotel is fantastic, just be prepared for a bit of Chinese level service. My last stay was at the Shangrila in Haitang Bay, this hotel has it covered in terms of facilities but not service. Still we had a great break at both.

  The hotel is amazing.
  Perfect location, great food and very attentive service.
  We had a swimming pool suite. The room was gorgeous, so spacious and luxurious, beautifully decorated and superb comfortable.
  Both swimming pool and the beach were faboulus.
  Superb good massage.
  Raffles signature cocktail- Singapore Sling is a must. It was awesome.
  The management team is always around to make sure everything is flawless.
  The best hotel we have ever stayed at with superb value for money.
  Hope to be back.
