  I had expected this would be a nice hotel but wasn't expecting just how nice. From the moment I arrived and was ushered to the club lounge as I'm an ambassador member and I met daisy and melody who did a great job of welcoming me to the hotel.
  The room was lovely and beautifully furnished with an amazing bath in the bedroom and a nice living room which goes out onto a small courtyard, the map of the hotel shows you how you can walk straight into the old town straight out the back gate.
  The view from the bar is stunning, the beautiful snow mountain directly in front of you and the wall to ceiling glass windows means the view goes all through the hotel lobby.
  But the service was so good, as a single lady traveling alone I was made to feel really welcome and daisy, Cosmo and melody wouldn't be out of place in any 5 star hotel in the world. Melody helped me practice my beginners mandarin whilst Cosmo made sure you had everything you needed and remembered the way you like tea, the wine you like & all delivered with a smile and real warmth.
  Not only is this an amazing town and area to visit but definitely my favorite hotel this year... Will definitely be back.
  So glad I chose it over the indigo next door :)

• Very good hotel in exellent location to Old Town Lijiang

  We have been there for 10 days during the National Holiday with a group of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids).
  This is a very nice hotel in the right location if you want to explore the old town of Lijiang by foot. It is settled just at the edge of the old town and has several gates you can use to enter the town.
  The grounds are beautiful and the lobby when you enter the hotel has a breath-taking view on to Snow Mountain if you are lucky enough to see it (like we have) without clouds surrounding it.
  We did have a suite with plenty of space, large living area a little floor, sleeping room and huge bathroom with oversized bath tub. However for my taste as the room was on the ground floor of the 2 story building they are very dark (even when the sun in shining) you need to switch on the lights.
  The 2 restaurants onsite are OK, however as the old town is in walking distance there are plenty on opportunities to eat nearby for a better price tag.
  Breakfast was plenty and had everything to offer you could ask for. Special thanks to Mr. Shen, the restaurant manager who was always helpful to support and even asked us if there was something we could not find at the buffet to let them know so he could ask the kitchen to prepare it. Also for one dinner night we ordered a special room and thanks again it was nicely prepared and very well organised.
  We did not use it but found that there was a good sized heated pool area.
  Some points which we did not find up the the 5 star standard was that the carpets in our suite were so fluffy that by walking over them with socks, the socks collected so much fluff that they have been completely covered with it. The kids play area was so small that probably only 4 kids could play at the same time. The business centre was not up to the job it should do. I just wanted to print a reservation from my online e-mail account and send it to an overseas hotel. First It took several minutes before somebody came to switch on the computer. Then it took ages before the even was an internet connection available. Finally when I did have the print in my hand I wanted to fax it to Germany. I was told by the person who tried to fax it that the fax machine can not send to international number. Sorry? This is an international 5 star hotel which is not able to send a fax internationally? I did not believe that and asked for the manager to come. However after waiting another 10min nobody showing up I just did it in a different way and did not bother waiting anymore.
  Anyway all in all a beautiful hotel which I would be happy to return to anytime.

  We were there 2 years ago when it was under Crowne Plaza - this time we went with our family. As we had highly praised the hotel, we were gratified to find that the hotel is just as we remembered - lovely rooms, friendly & helpful staff, and good variety of food offered at breakfast. This time we also made use of the spa facilities - the masseuse were very professional & gave us a fantastic Swedish massage.
  Its proximity to the ancient town allowed us to pop in & out frequently. All in, a fantastic place to stay & relax in and enjoy all that Lijiang has to offer!

  Seemingly in the middle of nowhere is this absolutely first class international Hotel/Resort.
  Magnificent grounds with a number of water features, manicured garden beds and sweeping paths. Within this setting are a number of unit blocks each containing an estimated 6 units.
  The rooms are large and airy, extremely well appointed with all the conveniences, Large screen TV, King Bed, seating and desk area, and within the bathroom separate showers and bathroom. the construction of each room involves two fold away walls around part of the bathroom and when they are open there is a wonderful feeling of space.
  The majority of the front of house, and restaurant speak sufficient English so as to converse.
  One minor drawback was at its restaurant Basil Leaf Restaurant, was the quite poor quality of its steak. However, the remainder of the meals was excellent. The same restaurant doubles for breakfast and I have never seem a larger array of food, both Western and Asian on offer. Wonderful way to start the day.

  This hotel is situated at the edge of the Lijiang Ancient Town. Its architecture design nicely blended into the surrounding buildings. The design, outlook, the garden, the plants, etc. are all impeccably pleasant, the golf car to transport the guests around the property is definitely a plus. I would describe it more as a resort than a hotel. The two storage height building about 3 rooms on each floor gives you the feeling of living at your villa.
  The food quality for breakfast is excellent. It not only provides you the good standard western food, but also presents you with some local specialties, some you can even find at the street vendors, but here in a neat elegant presentation. They obviously have a good full staff to serve you, attend to your individual needs, and polite. Not like some hotels only have few staff to transport the food to the buffet table, hardly to find one to help your personal needs.
  Only disappointment is the welcome drink coupons as their compliment to me, as a member of of their club, cannot be cashed due to the bar shutdown. However, they let us to have a soft drink at the tea bar, but we only get one serve of the tea, try to ask for an additional cup, they bring only hot water, as they claimed that they throw away the tea bag. (Most hotel will serve you with the tea bag in the pot, or your cup, for further use.)
