Good but not up to intercontinental usual standard
Lee K
Hong Kong, China | Nov 8, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesLocation:
30 min drive to the entrance of JiuZhai national park. Prepare to dine within the hotel. There was nothing else in the surrounding.
Restaurants:
Five restaurants were opened during my stay.
The cafe served breakfast and dinner buffet. THE BREAKFAST BUFFET WAS A DISASTER. There were a wide variety of Chinese and western food. However, the restaurant was very crowded in the morning. We had to find our own seats, just like in a busy fast food shop. It took us about 10 min. We had to share table with other guests. There was a long queue at the noodle counter. Don't spend extra money on the breakfast buffet unless it is free.
We tried two of the Sichuan restaurants. The food was up to standard and price was affordable (~RMB 200-300 for two) Choices of drinks were very limited.
We also had spicy Sichuan hot pot. The soup was yummy and there were plenty of choices of food. (RMB 168 per person, including unlimited food and drinks)
At night, there were traditional Chinese performances (singing some folks or traditional camp fire dance) in the restaurant.
We arrived at around 3p. All restaurants were closed, except one, which served afternoon tea set only. We tried to order room-service but it took 50 min. In the end, we ate snack in our room and had tea in executive lounge which opened at 5p.
Room:
We were intercontinental ambassador so our room was upgraded from deluxe to executive room. The room was spacious and well equipped with moisturising machine, heater, living room, etc. The central warming was well functioning and the in-room temperature was quite comfortable. We had requested a portable heater as recommended by other previous reviewers in tripadvisor but we did not have to use it during our stay. The room condition was very satisfactory, except that there was occasionally bad smell in toilet.
Staff:
Staff were in general very polite and helpful, especially the lady who served the executive lounge. However, most of the staff couldn't understand or speak English.
Facilities:
Executive room guests were eligible for free access to hot bath. The staff in the pool area was very rude. The bath was quite comfortable especially in the cold weather. However, the showering facilities in the SPA was very disappointing. The shower had bad smell and the flow rate of the shower was too slow that I could hardly take a shower there.
The in-door pool was icy cold. Don't attempt to swim in winter.
The lobby probably had no temperature regulation facility and it was as cold as outdoor.
There was a convenient store near the hotel entrance which you could buy water, cup noodles, instant-cooked lunch box, oxygen cylinder, etc.
The executive lounge only opened for two hours per day (5p to 7p). There were wide variety of food for choice but all of the hot dishes were cold even when they were just taken out from kitchen at 5pm. -
Impressive hotel

Singapore | Nov 7, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyThis was one of the highly rated hotel around the area, the location is rather exclusive, away from the town and other hotels. Hotel room was nice and cosy.
Stayed 2 nights here.
Breakfast spread was wide but not very suitable for us as they are more catered for chinese tourists. Breakfast starts from 6 plus and it was very crowded already when we were there at about 6.45am. Most tour groups leave the hotel very early to make full use of the whole day to jiuzhaigou scenic area.
Dinner spread, likewise, mostly catered for chinese tourists with addition of DIY grill stations for meat, fish etc.
Bread and pastries were not bad.
Service and was fantastic!
There are nightly rural tribal dance performance outside the bar and hotpot restaurant. -
Every breath it is very fresh as we stay in the forest

Lhasa, Xizang, China | Nov 4, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe hotel is peaceful and silent, not in the crowded place, not noisy! The facility is deluxe but sounds too old. We spent two nights and it was worthy. However food option is quite less and very expensive.

Fantastic

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates | Oct 8, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyI stayed for two nights. First, the location is 15 minutes (by car) away from the town. The hotel has big space and you can eat, shop, swim and take a spa in the hotel. Second, room conditions are very good. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean and big. But there is no bathtub. Third, staff are kind and services are good. Last, there is a swimming pool but you have to pay because it was included in spa facility.

Decent but overcrowded and far from Jiuzhaigou entrance
mpenzakc
Singapore, Singapore | Sep 26, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayThis is a huge hotel with trees, ponds and bridges in the central atroum. There are even real swans and ducks!!! Breakfast and dinner buffets are decent with a good spread. However, when I visited in September, it felt overcrowded and the popular dishes are often emptied within minutes. Rooms are spacious and clean. However, the configuration is poor with a tiny toilet. The hotel is also a distance from the Juizhaigou reserve entrance, so getting there might take quite long during peak periods.
