  Beautiful Hotel and Resort!
  Friendly stuff, well organized, almost all English speaking.
  Very very spacious clean, comfy room. Nice comfy bed.
  Few restaurants with different type of food - from European to Asian.

• Clueless Staff and Not Suitable for Foreigners

  The hotel property is quite nice, but the staff is clueless. It's also poorly equipped to handle non-Chinese guests, and the absence of language skills is only part of the problem.
  I took a club room, which according to the website came with a private pool. The problem was that the staff does everything they can to dissuade you from using it. Reasons ranged from (1) no water in the pool (not true), (2) the indoor pool is better (only if you want a crowd and a bunch of kids) to (3) snakes (good reason if true but no snakes). It's also not really a private pool for a particular room; it's private for all occupants of club level rooms. That's OK, it's just not the way they advertise the room on their website.
  There's a chronic shortage of towels in the room, and (naturally, I guess) no place to hang them once you get them.
  The concierge staff is very nice but next to useless. For example they will gladly arrange for you to hire a car and driver for the day but will neglect to tell you that the driver will only go to a few places within the city so that even with your own private car and driver you can find that you can't go where you want to go.
  Also, don't assume that you can rely on the concierge staff to help you put together a sightseeing itinerary. Inexplicably, this seems to be beyond their capabilities.
  The hotel restaurants were all satisfactory, though I would recommend avoiding wine with dinner. The bottles seem to have been stored at excessive temperatures and had spoiled. The room was nice, large and had a very nice view from the balcony. The bed was comfortable.
  The internet connection (wired or wireless) was ridiculously slow. It was much faster to use a cellular connection than to use the hotel's network.
  Another treat was trying to book a flight through the hotel only to find that they are unable to accept an American credit or debit card -- it's cash only.
  It's truly astonishing that a property that's part of an American hotel chain is so ill equipped to serve foreign guests.
  The premier attraction in the area is the so-called "Wild Elephant Valley." If you think this will be a safari-like experience seeing elephants in the wild, you will be very disappointed. Basically it's a trained elephant show. There's nothing wild about it. Apparently there are some wild elephants somewhere in the park, but you won't see them.
  On the other hand, the Buddhist temple in Jinghong was lovely, and the botanical garden was more interesting than expected.
  

• Amazing place

  This was an amazing place to stay in 'Banna during february. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for four nights and had a great relaxing time.
  We stayed in the hotel for one day because the resort has a very beautiful garden with the swimming pool meandering through the plants.
  The next day we rented a bike in Jinghong and did a trip through the countryside of Xishuangbanna. Getting to Jinghong was a breeze as the hotel offers a free shuttle service.
  The service was great. Even though the staff isn't fluent in English, they did their very best to make sure we were comfortable.
  The breakfast was extensive and in a beautiful setting next to the duck pond.
  Rooms were spacious and luxurious. This really is the place to be in'Banna!

  We loved this hotel, It's a beutiful and amazing resort. Very friendly and service oriented staff, always willing to help and make your stay enjoyable.
  Rooms are very clean, cozy and very comfortable.
  .Breakfast is huge but average qulity.

  We stayed at The Crowne Plaza for two nights. It is a beautiful spralling property. Seems to be more high-end than other C.P.s. We toured the city but found staying at the resort more enjoyable. Friendly staff and top- notch f&b selection. By far the best place to hang in "Banna".
