  This hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very big, clean and comfortable.
  Location wise it is about 3 kilometers from the center of Jinan (great place to visit) and taxi are quite cheap and easy to find. However make sure that you have the name of the hotel written in chinese to show to driver when coming (Shandong "tasha"; they seldom understand the word "hotel"). (ps. do not miss the musical fountain at 8 pm on the main square)
  This hotel is a 5 stars hotel indeed, and I would really recommend it.
  The restaurant is quite expensive, but for those who want to have a real chinese experience with "live menu " (fishes chosen directly from the fish tank) I think it is a good one (difficult for me to gauge as I am vegeterian)

  We were at this hotel for a conference. The rooms are very luxurious and comfortable. This is not our usual style of travel, and we were a bit put off by the "fancy hotel that could be anywhere" feel of the place - but that's not necessarily the fault of the hotel. Be prepared to pay top dollar for everything ($6-10 for one small-ish cup of coffee in the lobby lounge). We did love the restaurant on the second floor that had private dining rooms and served local specialties (including some very good vegetarian dishes). Lovely botanic garden across the road, and very near the 1000 Buddha Mountain.

  Used of staying in chain hotel, I was not expecting this level of service and comfort. Room was of exceptional luxury, I stayed for 2 nights I wish I had more time. WiFi was free and very fast. Food was of good quality.

  This is a local hotel which is run by the Shan Dong provincial government . While booking, I judged from its name that this should be a very old and shabby hotel with slack service. However, once I got in the hotel I was very much shocked and completely wrong. The lobby is gorgeous and my room-2211 was fabulous. The facilities were brand new and the bed is very comfortable. The room key has a canfucious oath printed on it and this really shows that Shan Dong is the home for Confucious. I was told by friends in Ji Nan that this hotel was built to specially treat government officials and that is why to some extend it appears to be a bit gaudy. Anyway, I like this hotel very much and will definitely get back again if I come to Ji Nan next time.

  Stopped by this hotel recently as we were struggling to find a good restaurantin the area. Good selection of dishes and the ones we really liked were the salt shrimp in batter with pepper, the sliced pigs liver with bamboo and the lamb. Great value, great taste.
