  Initial impressions when you arrive at the ground floor should not be trusted. When you take the elevator to the 7th floor for check in, you step out into another world altogether. An enormous lobby with spectacular decor in all directions - behind it the hotel rooms surround an open area while glass walled lifts travel up and down.
  The rooms are equally impressive. Spacious, with every convenience. Beautifully designed, well maintained.
  Breakfast in the lower floors has an extensive range of international cuisine to choose from.
  Definitely a place I will revisit next time I am in the area.

  Stayed in this hotel one night on a business trip to Jinan.
  The hotel has a modern a updated feel. Reception is on the 7th floor in a moder building.
  Checkin was uneventful and effiecient.
  Room was spacious and equipped as expected from a better business hotel.
  One interesting thing was that it was not possible to order wine by the glass in the lobby bar. Only by the bottle. Maybe it tells more about the drinking culture in this part of China than the hotel. What do I know but I found it interesting. The staff in the bar was extremely attentive. Almost too much.
  Breakfast was located on the 6th floor. One level below the reception which was slightly confusing. However the selection was good. Unfortunately the coffee quality was really bad.
  Checkout uneventful.

• Hardware excellent but spoilt by power trip

  I was quite pleasantly surprised when entering the hotel that is totally new and attached to a new shopping mall and district. However, to experience a power trip at midnight in the middle of my shower is not so much of a thrill. The electrician took ten mins to arrive and simply told me I cannot switch on the lights in the bathroom or it will trip again. The reception then asked me if I want to change my room, a midnight when I am still not done with my shower...
  Totally not what I expect from a five star new hotel. Anyway...
  Just make sure you ask them to check all the room switches work without tripping before you check in. Watch out for room 1060- the room I stayed in.

• Great location and great service

  Have to highlight that the hotel offered great service. Before I arrived, the hotel picked up a parcel for me; on the last day of the trip, I had to leave at 6am, which was before the buffet breakfast starts, the hotel prepared very nice breakfast packs for me, including a few fresh buns, yogurt and fruits. The check-out procedure was also fast and easy.
  I was joining an exhibition in Jinan, where I was approached by a Crown Plaza staffer who was trying to promote the hotel. After knowing I was staying in the hotel, the lady returned with a senior manager and asked us our experience at the hotel, they also noted my request about the take-away breakfast.
  I could feel that the staff was working hard to offer guests a great stay here.
  Speaking of room size, Crowne Plaza Jinan may not be considered "big" comparing other five-star hotels in China. However, the room is well-equipped. The bed was comfortable.
  Have to highlight the location of the hotel. It was close to a big shopping mall where you can find some good restaurants (at reasonable price) and coffee shops; the Furong Jie (street) was just 10 min of walk; behind the hotel was Quanchang Sqaure where you can find young people singing at night.

  The entrance is a bit weird because there is no reception on the ground floor. Reception is located on the 7th floor.
  Hotel is modern and rooms are spacious. Wifi is free but with the usual local limitation in accessability of websites. Staff is very frindly and have us an upgrate upon arrival.
  Would certainly recommend this hotel.
