Wendy Liu the superstar!!
jodyk505
Seoul, South Korea | Aug 18, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe stayed here for three days and enjoyed the experience. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff is friendly and the breakfast caters to everyone's taste. There is a bus stop around the corner from the hotel that goes to West Lake. A special thank you to Wendy Liu for helping us before and throughout our stay. She really made our stay a lot more pleasurable. Highly recommended!!

Lagos | Jun 11, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe hotel was close to the place I visited and location was a blessing. Had a superior room on 27TH floor with an amazing view of Hangzhou.
Helpful staff despite language barrier.
Spacious rooms with good interiors.
For vegetarians, sufficient options on breakfast to have a good day-start. -

The best Breakfast Buffet in China for the last 10 years
SwissCity
Zurich, Switzerland | May 17, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyBreakfast buffet was really amazing. The selection was simply great with many Western specialities as well and Expresso coffee (upon order) was indeed very good. The best we encountered in many years of travel in China.
The deluxe triple room turned out to be just the same doublebedded room as for our companions who stayed next door - simply without a third bed ... After some complains they added a third bed in a way that you could not get into it without climbing over the double bed first! - Consequently we moved the bed ourselves to discover that underneath the double bed had not been vacuum cleaned for serveral monthes: we found dirty guest socks, toy cars, cotton swaps and lots of dust clouds. -
Hotel Not for People that like Amenities
nbarnes612
Columbia, Maryland | Oct 27, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI recently traveled to Hangzhou for business and this hotel was the most decent one we could find that was within walking distance to the facility I had to travel to each day. The main reward of using this hotel was that I didn't have to worry about cabs or using public transportation everyday, however, that was the only good thing.
Cleanliness: The hotel is average as far as cleanliness and there were no major red flags. It's not an upscale hotel so there is some wear and tear on the rooms and the carpet was stained and should be replaced.
Amenities: The AC must be programmed to shut off at night. I personally like to be warm, however, each night the room was unbearably hot since the AC shut down. The wifi here was terrible. The internet would take on average 15 minutes to load one page when it worked at all. Not even connecting your laptop with the Ethernet cable worked. The hotel kept telling us it would be better during the week when the hotel was less busy or at night when less people were using it. So for a 7 day stay we were able to use the wifi at a more bearable speed for one of those days. If you have any need or desire to have a working internet connection this is not the hotel for you unless you want to purchase a mobile hotspot plan or just pay your cell carrier for using your data plan. This was very inconvenient since it made it almost impossible for me to communicate with my staff at home. I couldn't even check my email unless I used the data through my cellphone carrier which is very expensive as we were unprepared since the hotel says it has wifi. I have been to Bejieng, Guangzhou and Shanghai and I have never had this problem with accessing the Internet through wifi.
Communication: This hotel had very few English speaking staff members so if you can't speak any mandarin this hotel is not for you. The only thing that helped me was that one of my colleagues speaks fluent mandarin.
Location: This is not as big of a tourist area as Bejieng or Shanghai so there is very little to do here except go to the mall where no one speaks English so communicating prices or asking any questions on merchandise is useless. You can go walk around and see the sites of the west lake area, however, this would only be 1-2 days of activity. There are other tours you can get through the hotel but many of them required a couple hour or longer drive depending on traffic and were all very similar mainky hiking or walking through museums.
Food: the best food here were the vegetables served at breakfast. The food is mainly all Chinese cuisine but cooked very poorly. Pretty much survived on rice and fruit all week. This hotel is not a good choice for anyone that is a picky eater since there are only a couple dishes available that represent any non-Chinese cuisine.
Overall, if you are not a Chinese native and there is no major need for you to stay speficially in this location I would strongly suggest that you look for another hotel. If you just need somewhere to simply get sleep and shower then this is the place for you. If you want good food, AC, and Internet stay far away from this place.
