  Easy and not far to walk to West Lake although at the quieter side of the lake. We had bunk beds, we swapped rooms because our window didn't lock only to later find someone else walk in our room as they had also been checked in there. When this was resolved room was fine. There isn't much room and the shower isn't amazing but fine for a night or 2. Bit frustrating as not many of the staff spoke much English and they didn't have a map in English. Calling cards were left along the corridor but didn't see anyone laying them down. They had washing facilities but not drying so we ended up trying to hang up many of our clothes in the room. Computers in the room but they are Chinese so hard to use.

  Budget accommodation, great location and good staff, but the rooms are rundown and a bit yuck.
  This place really is budget, but for the price and location you just can't beat it. It's really cheap and so close to the incredible gardens of the West Lake. You can hire bikes from the hotel, making it easy to get around and see the beautiful area.
  There's a few food options nearby, including a KFC and Starbucks and local restaurants too. You can buy fresh fruit from a small shop outside and it's pretty easy to hail a cab.
  The rooms are really dirty and stink of cigarette smoke. The towels look like they've been around since 1972 and been used by 5 million people. They're really ratty. The floors and walls are dirty. Every night a card for a local call-girl service is slipped under your door, complete with provocatively posed girl pictured on it. The bathrooms are tiny and gross. Do not touch the shower curtain. BYO air freshener.
  The staff are really nice and really helpful, they are just lovely! The hotel is really affordable and, if you're staying for 1 or 2 nights, it's definitely do-able. You will survive... just don't touch anything with your bare skin and be sure to bathe in hand sanitiser.
  Honestly, if you're on a budget, it's your best option. Just approach it with the mindset that it's a private-room in a hostel and you'll be fine.

  Pod Inn hotel is very suitable for those who want to have a cheap trip in vacations. It has a good location near West Lake while the pricing of which is comparatively cheap, so it attracts many students and office workers. Even though the room of the hotel is not as large and luxury as five-star hotel’s, it’s more cozy to live in. there are no toothbrush and toothpaste offered by the hotel, we’d better prepare in advance. In a word, it’s cost effective.

  pod inn, it neat to west lake, you can trun around with bike. but alot of pod inn in hangzhou, i just recommanded the 5 pod inn. at zhe da street. not bad, good location for trip, near to zheda university also Foreign students there, nice also commfortable.

• Unhealthy place to stay

  Despite the fancy pictures on its website, Pod Inn actually offers extremely humid and small rooms with moisture all other the sailing and ... bed bugs ! And of course if the company of bed bugs were not enough, as a previous poster mentioned, you can rent the services of a prostitute (a small card is slipped under the door of your room in order to advertise for call-girls).
  Quite honestly, this has been my worst night ever in a hotel.
  The bed linen and the towels seemed however quite clean, but I would never recommend this place, no matter how cheap it can be ;) (please stick with 4/5-star hôtels only in China!!!)
