very good hotel, good services

Had a business meeting in the hotel and I received a nice room on 30th floor.
Sadly, it was just accross the elevators, and loudy guests did wake me up
Sound insulation from room to room is a serious issue, as I heard the guest next door sore and snort all night
Services however are good and are up to European standards
The top floor restaurant offers a wide choise and a good view, when not too much mist, or polution
We had a meetingroom on the 6th floor and there was a persistent food smell throughout our stay, not pleasant
The Chinese restaurant serves great food, but you cannot get coffee
For coffees or capuccini in the hotel, anywhere, they send it up from the ground floor bar, so do not expect a hot coffee

The hotel is Chinese run and in the centre of Hangzhou. The standard of the hotel is good and if have stayed in the hotel on business at least 5 times. The location is within walking distance to the train high speed train station to Shanghai. Rooms are ok and the bed is also only ok but the pillows could be improved as I like a firm pillow. Food in the restaurants is generally only Chinese and if you like Chinese cooking you will like some of the dishes. This hotel I think is ok for a short stay.

Have stayed in Hangzhou a few times, but first time at the Goethe.
The rooms are very high end, think Westin or Intercontinental with lots of limestone tile.
Location wise your not on the lake like the Hyatt, however you are both in the city area for shopping and a brief walk to the lake.
Breakfast had limited western options but was good.
Overall the appeal of the hotel is that compared to the Hyatt this is a great value, rooms are excellent and breakfast included.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times. The rooms are luxurious...particularly the bathrooms. Breakfast buffet is good but not great. The only really thing I didn't care for was that it always seems I am the only person staying in the hotel. The lobby, bars and restaurants in the hotel are all devoid of patrons.

My wife and I stayed here to visit her brother back in January 2013. I could not believe the price of the room we received. The view was fantastic and service was excellent. The buffet on the top floor was tasty and affordable.
If anyone would like a 4-5 star quality hotel in the Hangzhou area, please do stay here as i thought the value and quality exceeded my expectations. West Lake area of Hangzhou is very peaceful and beautiful. Most of the hotels on the west lake are very expensive and transportation is very affordable to and from the hotel.
