Pricey for not-for-business hotel
gl0ugl0u
Hong Kong, China | Feb 9, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessLooking at the standard room rate of rmb 1,600 for a king-sized bedroom doesn't make it exactly cheap, and not having any western dining outlet in the hotel does not improve on it.
Interestingly, the front door to the hotel was never opened and only a small side door was usable... Why? To keep the cold from coming in too much thru the bigger door (and hence increase the heating bill)?
The corridor lights in the room didn't work and I was told it was like that in the entire hotel. Didn't get repaired during my stay.
I also complained that the safe wouldn't close and they promised to repair it. But, of course, nothing got done!
The room was nice and spacious, but there's only 1 (1) power socket available in the entire room!! And that's behind the tv! Under the desk the outlet is occupied by the table light and hence no computer or phone can be used there! Simply crazy!
Overall, very disappointing as a business hotel. -
Good location but average hotel

Mumbai, India | Jan 16, 2026 | Trip type: BusinessI stayed during my business trip to China at this hotel. The location of the hotel is good but there is nothing special to mention about this hotel. The staff at reception does not understand English much which is a problem. Moreover the hotel and the rooms look little older. Positives are rooms are good in size, good bed, bathroom linen, free WI FI. Negatives are older looks, breakfast mostly Chinese not much option for foreign visitors, English not much understood by staff. Within short distance , 10 minutes by taxi one can reach the lake area which is beautiful for taking a walk. In short it is more of a Chinese hotel than an international hotel.

On the surface, feels comfortable. But the little annoyances add up.

New York City, New York | Dec 22, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyA room deposit of RMB500 is required. We got room 1403, with 2 double beds, and it must face the west side or something because it was extremely hot. And the vents no longer blow AC, just heat, which is ridiculous because the city was still a balmy 50F. We had to get a fan from housekeeping and she was huffy about it!
The room is fairly well lit and of a decent size. Power outlets seem to be rare and located at inconvenient places. The TV stand is low to the ground so you don’t really have any table-top surface waist high except for a small desk in the corner and the little alcove where the kettle and fridge are. Free WiFi and slippers are provided as well as two bottles of 550ml water daily.
The bathroom has the full complement of toiletries (shampoo, comb, toothbrush/paste, etc) as well as a separate spout which dispenses potable water. There is plenty of bathroom counter space.
The shower contains the shampoo/body wash combo dispenser. The glass door to the shower was unable to keep the shower water inside; splashes of water do appear outside of the shower stall. The walls of the shower facing the room are opaque glass.
The room overlooks the side of the hotel and the entrance to a morning market. The hotel is located about a 30-minute walk from Hefang St or from Hubin Road in opposite directions. There really isn’t anything nearby at all.
Breakfast was a sorry affair. Limited options and the ones there are, weren’t great. The saving grace is a freshly cooked noodle and egg station as well as the individual bottles of drinking yogurt. -
Not bad staying here.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | Dec 15, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyThere's no English hotel name on the exterior, just Chinese characters. Decor is not outstanding, staff has very little or no knowledge of English. The lobby bar is not purpose built. It has dividers as partitions from the hotel lobby and it's located under the grand staircase that leads to the 1st floor restaurant where buffet breakfast is served. The room is not outstanding - brown stained furniture, 36 inch flat TV with 70 channels, all in Chinese. No English movies except CCTV English news and Video on Demand. Room is spacious enough, bed is not too hard, bathroom has the glass wall but it's pasted with frosted effect stickers. Bathroom door is glass and not lockable.

King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, United States | Aug 25, 2025We arrived late, and was told there was no hot water. They told us that we could use another room to shower but we had to schedule a time since all the guests were taking turns using that shower. We said no thanks and that we'd just take a cold one. Was told that the hot water was fixed the next day but water was still just lukewarm. Location is just ok. Not much right next to hotel. Walkable to west lake but as others noted it is like 20 mins. Rooms are terrible. Carpets are stained and dirty, shower is moldy and gross, can tell they never clean the windows. Plumbing under sink has a plastic bag shoved inside. As others have noted the decor is incredibly worn and outdated. I could get past the decor if it was clean, but the rooms are awful. Pretty sure they didn't even bother vacuuming.
staff speaks little to no English. Breakfast was acceptable with noodles cooked to order and fresh eggs. Not a huge selection but tasted ok and even picky eaters can find something to eat. But people were smoking during breakfast so I lost my appetite. this is more a cultural thing than a hotel issue.
One plus is that there is free wifi in the room and in the lobby.
I would def not stay here again. Maybe other reviewers had nicer rooms, or maybe the hotel has just recently gone down hill but the place was way too dirty for me. And the hot water issue further proves that this place is not properly maintaining their facilities.
