• One of the most beautiful hotels by the lake

  I decided to stay in this hotel due to recommendation from my friends and it was my weekend getaway, away from work for relaxation. Since I live in Hangzhou it took me 2hrs by bus to arrive at the coach terminal in Qiandao and the hotel was only 20 mins by taxi from there.
  ARRIVAL
  I arrived at the hotel around 8.30pm and first thing I noticed was the warm smile from the staff. My check-in was fast and efficient and the staff spoke confidently in English. I was very happy to notice my room has been upgraded to a Deluxe Suite on the 11th floor.
  ROOM
  Deluxe rooms is full of luxury. Separate dining area with Mahjong Table, a cozy lounge overlooking the magnificent pool and lake with the balcony, adjoining large king size bed with large bathroom, rain forest shower and walking closet. Couldn’t ask for more and the room was in immaculate condition.
  FEAST ALL DAY DINING RESTAURANT
  I only had the opportunity to try out their all day dining restaurant FEAST for lunch. I ordered a Greek Salad and a Thai Chicken Curry and an icy cold beer. The food was presentation is five stars. Beautifully garnished and the food was delicious. I was looked after by their Western Operations Manager, who was friendly and efficient.
  HOTEL
  Hotel hardware is well maintained and good quality and is kept clean and tidy with minimal maintenance issues. Interior is very beautiful with a large lobby where they have live entertainment at night in the lobby lounge.
  OTHER
  Since I only stayed for one night, I feel that it was not enough time to enjoy the facilities. However I can see many water sports activities offered by the hotel ie. Jet skiing, speed boats, para sailing, boat trips to nearby islands etc.
  FISH HEAD
  I heard fish head is the most popular dish in Qiandao and it is famous for it. There are so many nearby local restaurants offer Fish Head dishes where you can pick your own fish for cooking. I have never eaten a fish head with so much flesh in it and very fresh and delicious. Must try if you are in Qinandao.
  WILL I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL?
  Definitively! I will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a great enjoyable time. Not to mention the shops are in walking distance so you won’t get bored.

  Lovely views, shame about the service in the hotel. We appeared to be the only westerners staying in the whole of Qiandao, obviously there was a language problem. The bar staff had no idea how to present or make an alcoholic drink, The waiters need correct supervison. One occasion we asked for a refil for tea, the waiter took each cup individually away to where the tea pot was situated which was some distance from us, without the saucer and returned each used cup, therefore going backwards and forwards too many times. Time and motion study. It would have been much easier if he had bought the teapot to us. Saving his legs. We do not like choosing our dinner menu from an ipad. The rooms were beautiful, but this location in China does not cater for foreign tourists at all and woud not recommend it. The boat trip on the lake was fabulous, again nobody spoke a word of english. The construction of holiday apartments for the Chinese community was intense.

  One of the best views from the balcony, large rooms, very clean, nice bathroom, excellent and friendly service, the best way to arrive is by the boat, the hotel is huge , but you do not feel it , a lot of great restaurants near by , it is good ta walk on the banks of the lake , nice walking paths , a lot of birds singing , if the balcony open, they can wake you up.

  Spent here the Chinese new year, rooms are very comfortable and when you have the lake view rooms you will enjoy every minute of the scenery. Unbeatable!
  Rooms are spacious and bed is very good, bathroom is modern and has a walk in shower.
  Breakfast is one of the biggest buffets I have ever seen with fresh prepared meals. Mainly for Chinese and Asians, less choice for Westerners. Organization in restaurant during breakfast was good because an expat was running it and gave his instructions to his crew, normally breakfasts in Chinese restaurant are a chaos. Personnel was very friendly and tried to speak English which is refreshing. Qiandao Lake Town is not much special but a boat trip on the lake and a tour by car in the area are recommendable.
