• Disappointing, but great location

  This hotel is in sad need of a facelift. The lobby is beautiful and the location can not be beat. In addition, the concierge staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the bathroom, while clean, had a mildew problem in the grout and was very old. The beds were quite hard, and the feather top had all the feathers around the edges (obviously hadn't been shaken in a while). The breakfast was only ok. The pool is a tiny thing, and the gym is also quite tired although sufficient. Overall disappointing for a Sofitel.

  We stayed here during the mid-autumn festival, making it a very crowded weekend. There were also two or so weddings going on in the hotel. Despite all of that - the staff were very helpful and the hotel was kept clean - sparklingly clean. The concierge (Aaron) was great, arranging a limo service for our trip to Lingyin Temple and the Longjin tea village - and even coming to the rescue to translate by phone when we got lost. The buffet, is just a buffet; it does the trick but think of the food as 3 star, vs the hotel which is a perfect 5. The best part, the location is directly across from the WestLake, and around the corner from a ton of shopping and food. I would stay here again.

  Nice, clean and next to west lake walking distance 3 min .all the staff are very helpful and check in time was fast just few min everything done . Room are big and with JBL speaker next to bed when i play with my music feel relax and comfortable.

  Very good Location to see Westlake
  Hotels on edge of westlake & has a view also has a road running in front. The area where there is the Impression show and the famous restaurant is crowded with many taxis hooting their horns and is very noisy. So we are happy to be at quiet Sofitel on the other end road facing but a minute from the underpass to the other side of the lake. A walking cum tram path runs the perimeter of the lake. We did the full tram ride in 1 hr for 30rmb but one can also do shorter route at various stops.
  It is also a 20 min walk to the area of many hangzhou restaurants and local food street.
  Rooms : upgraded to club level, 6th is highest level as hotels near westlake are low rise. Modern bathroom with his & hers basins. A bath tub sits on the side & 2 separate toilet & shower. Very spacious.
  Sky Terrace : at club level on 6th, lift landing turns left to a room that opens out onto the sky terrace with the lake view. A Volkswagen event organizer prevented us from going to the terrace as they have booked the room for the day but it was only 7.30am. It was a pity that hotel guests are prevented from enjoying the sky terrace when events should have been held at their conference rooms.

  Stayed here 2 nights for business.
  Just 2 km away from train station, taxi is very cheap
  Located across Xi Hu lake, good point to start your tour in Hangzhou
  Room is spacious, quite comfy, had problem with Air Co, but fixed right away,
  My room is facing outside, so its "noise vs view:, if you prefer view, then tolerate the noise, and vice versa
  Pretty basic facilities in the executive lounge.
  Had 2 hours free rental of bike for Platinum member, take advantage of this offer
  Breakfast is ample with a lot of option
  The only things need to be improved is the English speaking ability for the reception
  Other than that, its truly Magnifique experience
