  We booked two rooms. A suite and a family room. Both were comfortable and clean. The suite was on the 20th floor in Tower B with a beautiful view of the city and Xihu. However the washing machine was not functioning and the there were no cutlery, plates and etc in the apartment. Though it is advertised that the apartment has a kitchenette you need to rent the pots and pans for RMB 50.00 for the duration of your stay if you wish to prepare your own food.. The family room is at 7th floor with the night market view. Wushan night market is just steps from the entrance of the building.
  Loved the location of the apartments which is within walking distance from Xihu and there are plenty of eateries including Subway nearby. If you explore around the area you can find some fruit shops, market and many halal restaurants too. During weekends from Fri to Sunday there is a flea market wih peddlers selling many interesting items.
  The elderly may find the 10 minutes walk to Xihu challenging. However, the taxi fare to Xihu is about RMB11 so it is not a major issue.
  We had no problems to check in as we have read other reviews about the reception at the 7th floor. We told the security officer we want to check in and he helped us to access to the 7th floor. Even though we arrived quite late at night we managed to get a taxi from the airport and as we are not fluent in Mandarin we printed the apartment name and address in Chinese and showed it to the taxi driver. The taxi driver had no problem to find the apartment . It cost us about RMB126 and RMB 130 for the two taxis respectively for the trip. As mentioned by earlier reviewers there is no signboard Westlake 7 so you have to look out for East King Plaza at the glass door.
  Initially we had some problems locating the metro station but after a day or two once we are familiar with the nearby roads that becomes a non issue .
  Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment to anyone who needs a cheap, clean and comfortable place to stay near Xihu Hangzhou.

  Hotel is very close to the airport shuttle bus from Hangzhou airport. Get off at the stop marked Zhongshan International Hotel which is on a main road. With Dr Sun Yat Sen statue on your back cross the traffic light and walk about 2 minutes you will see 2 pink buildings, use the one on the right. You will pass a small Halal noodle shop. Tell the door person you are staying in Westlake 7 Apartments and they will ask you to see your passport and sign in and then buzz you in to the correct level.
  When the apartment was new it was very nice with quality appliances, shower and toilet etc. Not much maintenace have been done since, so the furnitures and bed are bit dated. There is a washing machine in the bathroom/toilet.
  We paid a little bit extra money to rent a cooking set which include a rice cooker, frypan, a pot. There is a set of odd size and ill matched bowls & plates in the apartment.
  You can buy 5L of filtered water from a little shop on the ground floor, we use this to drink, make tea and cooking. Local tap water is below par.
  Cleaning lady is friendly and do what's require on a daily bases.
  We found a traditional market sells fresh vegetable, tofu, fruit and meat 2 bus stops away on Huansha Road, toward city centre. We walk along a internal canal to get there is 30 minutes.
  East lake is on the other direction with good 15 minutes walk, Try to avoid the lake on the weekend and public holidays and visit out side peak hours (7am - 9am), (5pm - 7pm), you will not be able to get on a bus or flag down a taxi without some kongfu skills.
  Outside those hours the lake is peaceful and seats are always availble on the tourist train around the lake.
  Location of apartment is in old town so its great for seeing how local lives, its also a reasonable walking distance (20 minutes) to Song Street. There is a night market in front of apartment opens after sun go down selling all sorts of thing.

  Contrary to some of the poor reviews, I find this apartment hotel strategically located and within easy walking distance of the West Lake and the bus stops are just nearby. Although the night market might be too close for comfort to some, it is good browsing grounds for others who might like to pick up a souvenir or two as it is right in front of the hotel.
  The washing machine is meant as an added convenience, especially to budget travellers who might need to do some laundry and if guests find that their clothes might not dry in time before they check-out, just don't use it! I believe a dryer is not a neccesity in most Chinese household and as such it is not being provided, I think those who complained about the lack of dryer is just being frivolous.
  Overall, I found the room to be spacious, clean and the little pantry area convenient to make your own breakfast in the morning. To our pleasant surprise, there is a morning market right outside the hotel on Friday, with most vendors selling small antique items. As to their actual value, you have to judge for yourself but there are many vendors selling, of all things, live crickets, in small little metal tins. Very interesting indeed!
  The only downside is the small reception area, which is located on the seventh floor but checking in is not a problem at all.
  I enjoyed my stay in this apartment hotel and would recommend it to my friends who would be visiting Hangzhou.

  We - family of four - had a good apartment here. Spacious, warm and good wi-fi. The kitchen however was very basic. Not a problem for us, as we didn't cook or want to cook.
  We used and appreciated the washing machine.
  Service was ok, but staff had little english skills. (Tip: bring a print of your recervation)
  We didn't try the breakfast or coffee shop in the building. There is a Subway across the road and plenty small eateries on the road towards the lake.
  The location is good. The night market is just outside the door, and the Westlake just a 5 min walk away.
